Photos of Kobe Kitano Ijinkan-Gai

Kitano still has the Ijinkan (Western-style building where foreigners live) left over from the Meiji era. With the opening of Kobe Port in 1968, Ijinkan gradually increased, making Kitano Ijinkan Street full of exotic flavors. There are now 20 or 30 Ijinkans open to the public. The white Western-style buildings standing on the corners of the street have many pleasing sights. The Kazami Chicken Hall, built in 1909, is a representative building of Kobe Ijinkan; the red brick exterior wall It is beautifully coordinated with the interior decoration of Art Nouveau and has a gorgeous style. The furniture of the year is also very valuable. There is also the Menghuang Pavilion, which was built in 1903 and used to be the residence of the American Consul General.
