Photos of Otaru Steam Clock

The steam clock at the entrance of the Otaru Music Box Hall was built in 1977. It comes from Canada and is the largest steam clock in the world. It is also one of the only two remaining steam clocks today, and the other is in Vancouver. The steam clock is 5.5 meters high, steaming and making whirring sounds from time to time. In addition to being on time on the hour, the steam clock will play a simple and pleasant melody every 15 minutes, which is very distinctive and attracts people to take pictures.
