Earl's Castle is a medieval castle in Ghent, Belgium. Visitors can climb to the top of the restored castle. It is still partially surrounded by moats. Inside the castle is a museum that displays various torture tools (including a guillotine) used in Ghent's history.

Ghent is a very comfortable small town, can avoid the crowds of the capital or metropolis, enjoy the baptism of humanities and beauty, to Ghent for a few days, especially the Earl Castle, worth a visit.

Going inside from Ghent's Korenmarkt , you will see this castle, which is open to the public and costs more than 10 euros. The castle itself has a long history, so it’s okay to spend some money to experience it.

In the 4th century, the city of Carcassonne built a wall, and its magnificent relics can still be seen in two-thirds of the inner wall. The spectacular Castle of Karcasson (chteau de Carcassonne) was built to the west of this early fortress city, built by the Viscount Troncaville family in the 12th century, a century later, the castle was expanded and a circle of walls built around it. 

Gravensteen Castle, also known as the Earl Castle, is located in the heart of Ghent. This solid grey fortress was built by Philip of Alsace of Alsace, Count of Flanders, in 1180. There is a secret basement, a museum and a museum of historical weapons in the castle.
