A row of colourful heritage houses off Orchard Road where the Tourist Information Centre is located. The houses, most of them built between 1905 - 1925, are of Peranakan (Straits Chinese) architecture. Many of them have converted to bars and other businesses.Some of the more popular bars there are No. 5, Alley Bar and Que Pasa but there are others. The Outdoors Cafe & Bar on the corner along Orchard Road is a good place for people watching.Nearest train station is Somerset and you will need to cross to the other side of Orchard Road from the Orchard Gateway shopping centre, either at the traffic lights or glass bridge, the only bridge on Orchard Road.
