因特拉肯在拉丁文的原意是“两湖之间”，而这座小镇恰好就位于图恩湖和布里恩茨湖之间，因而又名湖间镇，是一个一年四季风景醉人，因观光而兴起的小镇。同时这个小镇也是去往少女峰的必经之地，因而是欧洲著名的度假胜地。在镇中心的何维克街的一片名为Hohematte的宽广绿地上，可以清楚的远望美丽的少女峰身影，也是来到小镇游玩的游人必到的打卡之地

在因特拉肯旅游住的地方叫美地酒店，中等规模独立建筑，有些房间可以看到少女峰，视野很好。特别说一下他家的免费早餐，除了有西方传统的面包咖啡外，还有中式米饭，感到店主很有心，在瑞士还是很少遇到，看来来这里的亚洲人华人还是比较多的。
