Mount Merapi Review

One of the active volcanoes in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, from the beach to the foot of the mountain, four seasons a day: 1. A JEEP with high cost performance for 200+ hours; 2. Awe of nature, awe of life; 3. People and nature, animals live in harmony.

Merapi is one of around 500 volcanoes in Indonesia, at least 129 of which are active volcanoes which are in a volcanic arc spread across the Asia Pacific archipelago which is also known as the “Ring of Fire”.

The most active volcano in Java, about 26 kilometers north of Yogyakarta, is erupting with surprising regularity. The eruption in 1006 destroyed a kingdom on Central Jawab Island and buried one of the seven wonders of the world, the Borobudur Buddha; In a November 1994 outbreak, 69 people died; and in January 2001, a massive surge of lava and thousands of earthquakes prompted Indonesia's Volcano Survey to warn of the volcano's condition. So be sure to ask for advice before climbing the mountain. It will be colder to go up the mountain in the morning to watch the sunrise, remember to wear thick clothes.

This majestic, cone-shaped volcano with a peak at an altitude of 2,911 meters above sea level also determines the lives of past leaders and their kingdoms.

A wonderful and interesting journey! From the village (new selo) to kuncap of Merapi at 1 p.m., it begins with the woods and mudstone roads, and then begins with the small gravel road in the fourth section and goes straight up the cliff! It was a very hard journey, totaling four kilometers, but when we got to kuncap and saw the sunrise, it was worth it!
