The POWDER TOWER Powder Storehouse Tower is an important defensive fortification in the old city of Riga in history. It dates back to 1330, when it was called SAND TOWER. Later rebuilt, guns and ammunition were stored in the tower in the 17th century. The tower has the name of the powder storehouse tower now. It has been the Latvian War Museum since 1919. Now it's surrounded by green plants, but the brick-red tower and green spire are still conspicuous.
