Wisboomgemaal, Wisboom Pumping Station
#newyearadventure
When we visit to Kinderdijk Netherlands, the ticket is included the entrance to this Pumping Station.
Dating back to 1868, the Wisboom pumping station was originally operated with a steam engine until it was converted to electric power in 1924.
In this station, firstly we are able to play a “game” by controlling the windmill to get more wind to generate into power for the water management system.
Next we can see the engine room, where the guide will explain to us on how’s the engine work.
It’s a nice and fun trip!
Such a wonderful place to experience the beautiful windmills of Holland ! Beautiful place..would highly recommend it !
I left a piece of my heart there. Such simplicity and yet so beautiful. Will definitely go back again :)
The surrounding environment is quite good, the windmills that turn, the leisurely horses, cattle, sheep in the pasture, the elderly who ride bicycles by the river, and the children who fly around the water birds, running and jumping, how can such a pastoral scenery be a beautiful word!
It is a very interesting place, beautiful, good atmosphere, comfortable travel. If you have a chance, you should visit here once. Will see the unique wind of the Duch people
beautiful atmosphere place but limited parking can take photos at any point
If the windmill village is like a lively farmhouse, the children's dikes are more like real villages. It takes about 50 minutes to drive from downtown Rotterdam, and it is about the same distance from Amsterdam. It is dusk again, the museum and visitor center have closed, the shops in the village are closed, you can stroll, or take a boat, ride a bicycle to see the scenery. It is a pity that I did not visit the windmill and learn more about the Dutch countryside, but I like the quiet and beautiful scenery here.
