Wonderfully surprised at this restaurant when I went a couple of weeks ago. We bought one of the platters for two, with steak, prawns, calamari and lamb chops etc. The food was to die for. I had never eaten such huge prawns. Usually I am not too impressed with calamari and find it chewy. This calamari...give me more. Yum! The steak and the lamb also cooked to perfection. Platter also came with chips and salad and we had trouble finishing it all but just managed. Our compliments to the chef ...he certainly knows how to cook. Staff were very friendly and helpful also and the restaurant had a lovely atmosphere of elegance and fine dining. I will definitely come back to this restaurant...in fact this week.

The restaurant was empty the whole time we were there, therefore the service was great and so was the food, as the chefs didnt have to rush cook our food like a fast food restaurant so I cant really say how good the food is on any other day, however the food taste, quality and aroma were fantastic, as was the service. However the two biggest let downs for me were that I felt the food was overpriced and the look of the place was very dark and depressing. They really need to update the interior to make it bright, positive and appealing. It shouldnt look like you&#39;re going to visit a witch in a cave.

An unprepossessing street frontage with their takeaway section as the entrance, the restaurant itself has no pretensions to mood or atmosphere. &#39;Clean and stark&#39; describes the decor. We were immediately greeted by a smiling waitress and seated. The menus were extensive and to us, who were novices on some of the more specialty South Indian and Sri Lankan dishes, a little confusing. We asked the waitress for some help and we ended up with a lamb dosa (giant crispy pancake) which came with some lovely condiments. We also ordered a beef vindaloo, which was also accompanied by a cluster of beautiful chutneys, a raita and dahl. Every bowl of condiments was delicious in itself and nothing was wasted between the two of us. The waitress assured us that we had ordered enough (a refreshing change in itself) and she was right. We cam away very satisfied and less than $30 lighter. Although we live half an hour away,this will become one of our regular eateries. Next time we will bring a tribe of people so that we can taste more dishes!

I would have scored this place as excellent, however on a freezing morning, the plates that delivered our breakfast were like they were stored in the fridge. The service was excellent, the coffee was fantastic, and the food was awesome. Great menu selection, but another reason I scored Lily&#39;s down was 3 items from the menu (2 of which our group wanted to order) were not available. Wheelchair access is fantastic, and yay the toilets are spotless and have paper towel. This place can get very busy so be sure to book a table.

We have been to Lilys on many occasions. Suberp staff with excellent service. Decor is bright and refreshing and the complex has recently undergone extensive extensions to an already fine complex with many options and ability to cater for a wide range of differnt celebrations. Well worth the visit.

I booked dinner last night for 13 people to celebrate my daughter&#39;s 18th Birthday. The food was great and the recent renovations were lovely. However, our table received no service at all until I complained. After we were seated half an hour, and no staff had approached our table, we started ordering our drinks from the bar. Drinks were made but still sitting there 20 minutes later, so we collected them ourselves. Barman was complaining that he had dockets lined up and someone had phoned in sick. Our waitress was hard to understand, extremely flustered and unable to cope with taking our orders. We were given incorrect starters and she really did not know what she was doing and knew nothing about what &quot;gluten free&quot; meant. The only service we got was when the other tables left so the staff finally gave us attention. I was so disappointed. Although we had a large group, the restaurant was probably quarter full, so it wasn&#39;t as if they were busy. They have a truly special place and could not complain about the food, but they need to do something about having adequate staff. I had to run around looking for staff the whole night.
