Qingjiao Tzu Chi Palace is located on Maqing Road, Haicang District, also known as East Palace. Qingjiao Village was the place where Wu Kuo, a folk doctor in the Northern Song Dynasty, practiced Taoism, alchemy, and practiced medicine. After the completion of the Tzu Chi Temple, the incense was too strong, so people had to build another Baijiao Tzu Chi Temple in Wu Kuo's hometown, which is the West Palace. Today, there are still many pilgrims who come to the East Palace to worship, and the temple fairs and Tzu Chi cultural festivals are even more noisy every day. If it is a holiday, it is also very good to climb the mountain for leisure. As soon as you enter the mountain gate, you will be greeted by a spectacular staircase with more than 800 steps, as well as the 20-meter-high statue of Emperor Baosheng at the end of the long steps. The feeling of pilgrimage arises spontaneously. All the way up, along the road are the stone statues of famous doctors of various dynasties and their introductions. Although there are not many steps here, they are dense and steep, which is more physically consuming. You can climb to the top while walking and resting for about half an hour. The top of the mountain is the hall of the Tzu Chi Palace. There are four wonders in the palace: one is a colorful painting of a crested head, a dragon's tail, a turtle body, and a four-legged beast; the other is the reconstruction of the Kangxi, Jiaqing, Xianfeng, Guangxu and other dynasties. The inscription on the tablet; the third is a stone with the word "heart"; the fourth is the black and white painting on the rafters of the palace, which is not subject to insect erosion. After the tour, you need to go down the mountain the same way. Standing on the top of the mountain to see the surrounding scenery is very open, but the steps under your feet are somewhat daunting for tourists who are afraid of heights. Walking back down the mountain, you can also go to the small temple Longqiu Temple next to the steps to worship, and there are also some small restaurants around for dining.
