A short hike to an overlook with views of Thunderbird Falls
The trail is short and easy, but the view of the falls from the overlook aren't that impressive. Not sure if there was a trail to the bottom of the falls and we missed it.. We were filling in our day ...
Fun hike
We enjoyed hiking up to the falls. It was a fairly easy hike but was a great way to take a break from the drive to Denali from Anchorage.
Just an OK Waterfall
Not that exciting. If you are in the area go to Barbara Falls. This is a short walk and there is a platform to look out at the waterfall.
What it was like in the 1980s
I always took the hike from my back yard down to the trail. I lived on Teal Loop Drive in the mid 1980's and the house abutted the trail. There was no parking, view platform, etc. at that time. Please...

Trailhead parking is limited. Pit toilets available at trailhead. Well marked trailhead and well groomed trail. Trail has several steep sections, including at the beginning. Bug spray is a must. ...
