Bungo Ono City is a town covered with pyroclastic flows caused by the great eruption of Mt. Aso ９ 10,000 years ago. You can see many geosites caused by Aso's strong and weak welded tuff. The Hyakueda (commonly known as Iwato) Railway Bridge is located between Mie Station and Bungo Kiyokawa Station on the ＪＲ Toyohi Main Line.
