James Lumsden was a Provost of Glasgow and also a treasurer of The Royal Infirmary for many years. So his statue stands proudly right outside the Royal Infirmary.
I didn't know anything about James Lumsden until I visited the Cathedral square where there is a statue to him. He was a businessman and Provost of Glasgow ( sort of Mayor) from 1843 to 1846.
