The arcade buildings are the iconic buildings of Shangxiajiu, stretching for kilometers, and it is currently the largest and best preserved in Guangzhou. The second stop is Yongqingfang, which can be reached by walking along Shangxiajiu Pedestrian Street. There are many attractions in Yongqingfang. The Xiguan Yongqingfang Tourist Area has the most complete arcade building group in Guangzhou and the Republic of China-style buildings with Chinese and Western styles. It has a profound historical and cultural accumulation and is a national 4A-level tourist attraction. The main attractions are Liwan Lake Park, Pantang Wuyue, Renwei Ancestral Temple, Wen Tower, Jiang Guangnai's former residence, Yongqingfang, Bruce Lee's ancestral home, and Cantonese Opera Art Museum. The third stop is Xihua Road, where you can feel the unique fireworks of Guangzhou. It's a place where locals hang out, very down-to-earth, and the things are cheap and the taste is very authentic. Shangxiajiu Walk Night at its best! Shangxiajiu is one of the most busiest pedestrian streets in Guangzhou. With long walk of 1,240 meters, it’s packed with clothes shops, shoes shops and snack shop also good old restaurants. Day trip walk around Shangxiajiu is a bit crowded so I prefer going to Shangxiajiu at night because of it’s beautiful neon lights! Its glowing lights feels you back to old school neons and watching old China. Best come early evening as they turn off lights around 11PM. The street is over 1237 meters long, lined with shops, boasting more than 300 stores. The biggest feature is that it is a 24-hour bookstore. 🍴Food: 1️⃣Enning Ice Cream: There is a unique chicken biscuit ice cream, 23 yuan a ball! It really tastes like a real chicken biscuit! 2️⃣Original Wood Workshop: This coffee shop is on the edge of Litchi Bay where you can see the lake, listen to the birds, and quietly spend a wonderful afternoon~ 3️⃣Yunteng Claypot Porridge: Authentic street stall style Xiguan Cantonese cuisine, Yunteng chicken wings, seafood claypot porridge are always the must-order dishes. 4️⃣Tao Tao Ju: The main store in Shangxiajiu is a century-old brand, where you can not only buy Xiguan chicken biscuits and wife biscuits, but also have tea all day, and eat shrimp dumplings and siew mai, and scones that I have been eating since I was a child. 5️⃣There are also the beef ball noodles of Ri Yue Nian, the fried sauce Yi noodles of Jian Ji, the beef sausage of Yuan Ji, and the wonton satay noodles of Chao Bao Snacks...
