I just visited Arashiyama in Kyoto, and this place is truly an astonishing tourist destination! Kyoto experienced a snowfall on March 21, and this year's unusual temperatures have delayed the flowering period by a week. Although some places had not even started blooming when we left, we still witnessed the stunning full bloom, realized how quickly cherry blossoms can grow within a week, understood the difficulty of perfect timing, and reflected on how important it is to cherish the beauty of the present. During this six-day trip, we stayed in Arashiyama, so we could also say we witnessed the cherry blossoms' journey from buds to full bloom, especially the cherry trees along the Katsura River, and on the hills of Kameyama and Kogetsusan in Arashiyama. The saying that cherry blossoms change every seven days is no exaggeration; some blossomed from buds to full bloom within a single day.

One of the photo spots in Arashiyama is the comprehensive facility 'Arashiyama Shoryuen' located in front of the Randen Arashiyama Station. There are many souvenirs to buy, as well as snacks and resting places. The two-story facility is themed around 'The Joy of Old Shops', and each shop has its own unique character. Upon entering, a windmill wall caught my eye, and there was also an ongoing event where you could write on a wish card and hang it up 💯. One of the souvenir shops that caught my attention is the century-old bean confectionery shop. I usually like to eat brightly colored bean snacks. The illustrations on the packaging are all themed around the scenery of Arashiyama, with bamboo groves in summer, and the Togetsukyo Bridge in spring, autumn, and winter, making it very suitable as a souvenir 🤣

Scenic place by the lake at Arashiyama during Autumn. You can rent Kimono from nearby shops and explore a few photo spots around the area. The bamboo forest is also walking distance away. Will recommend to come early as it can be quite crowded in the day especially the bamboo forest. There are also some cafes/ temples near the area that are good for chilling. We went to a small temple to enjoy a cup of matcha green tea while getting some photos. #arashiyama #schoolholidays
