Laolongwan Scenic Resort

Laolong Bay Scenic Area is located in Yeyuan Town, 10 kilometers south of Linqu County, Weifang City. Laolong Bay was formerly known as "Xunye Lake" and was formed by the confluence of underground springs. It is named because of the legend that there is a spring in the bay that leads directly to the East China Sea and a dragon lurks in it. It is famous for its strange springs and green bamboos. Laolong Bay has a long history. "Shui Jing Zhu" records that "Xunye Water has become a famous site" in the Northern Wei Dynasty. In the sixth year of Longqing in the Ming Dynasty, Feng Weimin, a Sanqu writer and "the first Sanqu writer in the Ming Dynasty", resigned from his official position and retired to his hometown. He "built a hut on the Xunye Water and named it 'Ji Jiangnan'" (now "Jiangnan Pavilion") until his death. Laolong Bay has beautiful scenery, and its scenery has its own characteristics in spring, summer, autumn and winter, especially in winter. In the dead of winter, the mist in the bay is steaming, like a fairyland, forming the wonder of "Yeyuan Mist Warm in Three Winters", which is known as "Northern Jiangnan" and included in the "72 Famous Springs in the World". According to historical records: since the famous swordsmith Ou Yezi in the Spring and Autumn Period forged the "Longquan" sword here, sage Confucius, Qin Shihuang Ying Zheng, Han Zhuxu Hou Liu Zhang, Northern Wei geographer Li Daoyuan, Northern Song Dynasty prime minister Kou Zhun, writer Fan Zhongyan, Ming Dynasty calligrapher Xuesan Daoren and others have all visited Laolong Bay and left behind a large number of articles and calligraphy works.
