National Museum, Maldives

The exhibition begins downstairs. The exhibits mainly show the ancient and medieval history of Maldives, including weapons, religious supplies and daily necessities, as well as many impressive wooden carvings in Arabic and Thaana, commemorating the conversion of Maldives to Islam in 1153. Upstairs is a showroom showcasing contemporary and contemporary history, including some valuable and world-renowned Maldives lacquer box exhibits, as well as various new technologies in history, such as the country's first gramophone, telephone and large computer. Unique exhibits include the minutes of the famous underwater cabinet meeting held by former President Nasheed in 2009, as well as an impressive marine exhibit, a 6-meter-long, extremely rare skeleton of the Langman's beak whale, which has not yet been seen in the sea. It's very annoying that although all the items are safely placed in the glass window by the horse, there is always a guard who follows you inexplicably.
