There is no circulation to the water, so it has a lot of algae in it. It is more like a stagnant pond rather than a lake. There is also no cover in case of bad weather.

Beautiful swimming hole in the forest.
Loved it. Unfortunately, vandals ruined the electric campsites but primitive campsites are available. Bring bug repellent for the red bugs.

Love this place, grew up camping every weekend here! Great hiking trails, swimming area has sandy bottoms like the beach.
