The blue 々 and the leafy figure were full of vitality and somehow impressive. Is this a burnt tree in the war?

Symbol of reconstruction from war disaster

    Original Text

A large ginkgo tree along the main street in front of Mito Station. When the city of Mito was burned down by the air raid during the war, this tree was also burned, but after the war, it sprouted and grew into a large tree again. It is a symbol of reconstruction from the war disaster. I felt the strength of life force.

It seems that the autumn leaves were late this year, and I was able to see them wearing a wonderful yellow. Awesome! beautiful! Worth a look.

    Big ginkgo tree

    Original Text

When I went to Mito in October, I found a large ginkgo tree near JR Mito Station. The autumn leaves had not turned yellow yet. The city of Mito was scorched by the 1945 air raid. This ginkgo tree was also burned, but it is said that a new bud was born in this ginkgo tree shortly after the war. It is a powerful tree of life. It is a tree of living witnesses of the Mito air raid and postwar reconstruction.

    Ginkgo

    Original Text

There were two explanations written in Japanese and English bilingual on the stainless steel plate and one written in detail in Japanese. I felt something like the love of Mito citizens for this ginkgo.
