This is a sculpture created by Guillaume Dodelin in 1984, and it means "ice jam" (blocking the river bed with ice). There are no gaps between the large paving stones on the sidewalk and the four bronze plates of the fountain, from which water spurts. The sculpture beautifully evokes the ice breakup in Quebec. It is renowned for its artistic merit and functional ingenuity.
