A Citywalk, encountering the history and beauty around Yuyuan Road
Today, the sun is exceptionally bright, and I am excited to start a day of Citywalk.
First, I arrived at Yuyuan Road, which exudes a unique atmosphere where historical charm and modern vitality blend. Deep in an alley, in front of a large billboard endorsed by Wang Yibo, a couple and a mother-daughter pair were taking photos with great interest. Their figures complemented the billboard, creating a vivid and lively scene, as if performing a wonderful interlude in life. At the entrance of a small shop on the street, a cute cartoon character playfully holds up mahjong tiles, seemingly enthusiastically soliciting business.
Next, I went to Changning Financial Park, where after registering my information, I was allowed to enter for a visit. The park has 11 old Western-style houses, all built in the 1920s during the Republic of China, each with its own charm. In the park, a loquat tree in front of a building was particularly eye-catching. The tree was laden with ripe loquat fruits, a yellow cluster that looked like strings of golden lanterns, shining with an enticing luster, truly making one marvel at nature's generous gifts.
Then I headed to Zhongshan Park, which I hadn't visited in decades. It seemed like a paradise on earth, with sunlight filtering through the gaps in the branches and leaves, casting mottled shadows. Walking on the path, a gentle breeze blew, carrying the fragrance of flowers and trees, and that tranquility and beauty made me feel exceptionally comfortable.
Finally, I entered East China University of Political Science and Law (Changning Campus). The predecessor of this university was St. John's College, established in 1894. The campus is filled with various Chinese and Western-style buildings, all steeped in a rich historical and cultural atmosphere. Just entering the campus, on the lush lawn, a female student was intently taking photos for a couple. The boy held a doctoral cap gently above his girlfriend's head, while the girlfriend posed playfully, their youthful spirit and romantic atmosphere perfectly intertwined, like a heartwarming symphony. When I saw the statue of Zou Taofen in the Taofen Building, a sense of solemnity and reverence suddenly arose, and the profound sense of history deeply settled here.
The old buildings on Yuyuan Road are well protected. The Jiangsu Road on Line 2 is out. The whole street is very green. Now there are many new coffee shops on the side of the road. It is really good to walk around and see the historical introduction wall.
The old aunt also followed the wind to make a lively stroll around the net red road, see what is popular with young people now. I wanted to avoid the flow of people on the last day of the Dragon Boat Festival. I didn’t expect that there were still a lot of people in Yuyuan. Basically, they were young people. All kinds of small and fresh shops were very cute. Only when I walked to the alley was deep, I had the fireworks I was familiar with. To be honest, Still prefer the kind of sun in the alley to chat with parents in the short atmosphere, this is my familiar Shanghai, not satisfied with the old.
Yuyuan Road is a road in Shanghai's West District. Although this road is not wide, it is not short. There are many hundred-year alleys on Yuyuan Road. Each alley has a historical story hidden, which is worth punching in.
I have lived in Changning for more than 20 years. Before and now, Yuyuan Road is only a few minutes away. The living and cultural atmosphere here are very strong, and with the increasing number of online red shops in recent years, it has become more and more fashionable. In early June, Shanghai just unblocked, and went for a walk in the evening. There were already a lot of people on the road, and it was broken for two months. Maybe after everything is completely normal, there will be fewer people, so that you can walk peacefully.
Yuyuan Road is getting better and better, from Jiangsu Road to Zhongshan Park this section can also be said to be the essence of Yuyuan Road, from Frank Steak House to the garden in the city center is really a step by step. Frank steak is an old store here. I want to eat it every time I pass by. As a result, I haven't been there once in 10 years. The city garden will change flowers according to the season every season, and often come to Changxin.
