Southern Mosque

Nanda Temple is close to the southern end of Jiefang South Road. Nantaizi, originally in Nanshan, Urumqi, was relocated here in 1919 and rebuilt. The main building of the Nanda Temple is the worship hall, which is convex in plan. The front of the roof is made of double eaves Xieshan style, covered with glazed tiles. There are tile decorations such as two dragons playing beads on the ridge of the eaves. The rear of the hall is built with brick walls, and the front is equipped with wooden lattice doors. The walls on both sides of the corridor are engraved with four screens of orchid, plum, bamboo and lotus. The main hall is divided into two halls, the outer hall is 15 meters deep and 22 meters wide, and the inner hall is 15 meters deep and 15 meters wide. The hall can accommodate thousands of people for worship. The monastery also has a propaganda building, a shower pool, an imam's house and a reception room for foreign guests.
