Hotels With Gym in Hokkaido, Japan

Our stay at Chalet Ivy Jozankei was truly memorable and one of the best luxury hotel experiences we have had in Japan. The hotel is beautifully designed, impeccably maintained, and the hospitality from most of the staff was exceptional. We were warmly welcomed by a lovely lady at reception (whose name I unfortunately did not catch), who shared that she personally grows the beautiful flowers displayed in the hotel's sitting area. That personal touch immediately made us feel at home. Mr. Tai, who checked us in, was friendly, patient, courteous and professional. He took the time to explain the room features and hotel facilities in detail, making us feel genuinely welcomed. The cleanliness deserves special recognition. I am particularly sensitive to cleanliness and usually notice dust very easily, yet I could not find a single speck of dirt anywhere in the room. It is honestly one of the cleanest hotels I have ever stayed in. The lounge was another highlight. Each guest received a ¥1,000 alcoholic drink credit, and the complimentary snacks featured premium Hokkaido brands such as LeTAO, Yoshimi and Ryugetsu, making the experience feel truly luxurious. Dinner was outstanding. Every course was beautifully presented and delicious, while the restaurant staff provided attentive and polished service. The hotel's tasteful interior perfectly complemented the stunning views of the lush greenery and Toyohira River. We were also delighted to find beautifully cut and chilled melon and strawberries waiting in our room upon arrival. It was a thoughtful welcome that reflected the hotel's exceptional attention to detail. Breakfast was equally impressive, with beautifully prepared dishes that made each morning enjoyable. The private onsen in our room was undoubtedly one of the highlights of our stay, allowing us to relax while enjoying the peaceful natural surroundings. While our overall experience was excellent, I have a few suggestions for improvement. One Japanese male staff member who was on duty during check-in and later that evening came across as rather cold. On several occasions, I smiled and greeted him, but he did not acknowledge me and simply walked away. The contrast with the warmth shown by the rest of the team was quite noticeable. As such a premium property, it would also be wonderful if the hotel could offer more cultural or wellness activities, such as tea appreciation sessions, guided evening walks or seasonal experiences. During a previous stay at Capella Singapore, these activities became some of the most memorable parts of our visit, and I believe Chalet Ivy Jozankei has the perfect setting to offer something similar. I would also like to suggest a different restaurant seating arrangement for tables of four. Currently, only two guests can enjoy the beautiful river and greenery views while the other two face the interior of the restaurant. Arranging the tables perpendicular to the windows would allow all four guests to enjoy the spectacular scenery during their meal. Lastly, although we appreciated receiving tickets to the Summer Night Illumination Festival, accessing the main street requires walking up a very steep slope that is shared with vehicles, which could be challenging and potentially unsafe for elderly guests. In the future, perhaps a pedestrian bridge connecting Level 5 directly to the street level could improve accessibility and safety. Overall, Chalet Ivy Jozankei delivered an exceptional luxury experience with outstanding cleanliness, thoughtful hospitality, remarkable cuisine and beautiful surroundings. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily return in the future. Thank you to the entire team for making our visit so memorable.

The most comfortable bed I’ve ever had in a hotel. We had some of the best sleep during our stay. The bed was huge and incredibly comfortable, with plenty of pillows and soft, high-quality linens. The room itself was spacious, quiet, and very well soundproofed, with lots of space to store luggage and personal items, plus many useful amenities. The entire hotel has a modern, clean design and is kept in excellent condition. The staff were very kind, professional, and spoke English, which made everything easy. They even provided umbrellas free of charge when it rained, which was a thoughtful touch. The hotel bar also deserves a mention. The service was excellent, the drinks were very good, and the parfaits were delicious. Since parfaits are very popular locally in Sapporo, I definitely recommend trying one here. The location is convenient too: just a short walk from Susukino and the Sapporo city center, close to the station by a few metro stops, and easy to reach by taxi. Overall, this Marriott was a real gem. Because of such a pleasant experience here, I’ll definitely consider staying at other Marriott Courtyard hotels in the future.

We stayed 6 nights in Hotel Sosei Sapporo. It takes 10-12 minutes walk from Sapporo station, the hotel just located next to Sapporo Factory, a historical building which became a shopping mall. We satisfied with all the services provided by the hotel, including breakfast, welcome drinks, room service and reception. Most of the hotel staff can speak English, they are friendly and helpful. Definitely we will stay in this hotel again if visit Sapporo again.

We had a wonderful stay at Portom International Hokkaido and wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. The hotel feels very new and modern, and everything was exceptionally clean and well maintained. The onsen was one of our favourite parts of the stay. It was beautifully designed, peaceful, and a great way to relax after a long day. We also appreciated having access to a well-equipped gym, which was spotless and had everything needed for a good workout. The room amenities were surprisingly comprehensive. It wasn’t just the usual toiletries—they even provided thoughtful extras like air freshener, onsen pj, actual pj, bedroom slippers which made the stay feel extra comfortable and convenient. Overall, the service, cleanliness, and quality of the facilities really stood out. Portom International Hokkaido made our trip even more enjoyable, and we’d happily recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and premium stay near the airport.

Exceptional Private Onsen & Hokkaido Flavors. Overall Impression: A perfect blend of convenience and cozy. Despite the bustling atmosphere and classic, dark decor, the private onsen and dining experience make this a standout choice in the area. Hightlights: The room: Spacious with beautiful wooden floors and a private outdoor onsen. Soaking in the heat while snow falls is pure magic. Features like the ”His&Her” sinks and an in-room massage chair make our stay more comfortable. All complimentary in the room adds a thoughful touch. Dining: The buffet offers and impressive variety of local dishes alongside beautifully plated mains. Even when busy, the staff sustematically managed the seating, ensuring we enjoyed the stunning winter views comfortably. The Hokkaido cheese pizza and dessert are absolute must-tries. Location and Service: Perfectly situated in the heart of the sightseeing district, with famous sweet shop right nearby. The complimentary valet parking and polight, perfessional staff made our stay seamless. Observations: Atmosphere: The common areas can feel a bit crowded due to its popularity. Design: The room interiors are a bit outdated and lean toward very dark tones, and notably, Netflix is not available on the in-room TV. Note: Windows are fixed; ventilation is managed via the onsen balcony door. Verdict: Highly recommended for foodies and onsen lovers who want to be the center of the action.

The staff at Park Hyatt are incredibly attentive and thoughtful. The front desk ladies are not only beautiful but also very meticulous and considerate, especially kind and warm towards children. This time, I'd like to extend a special thanks to the hotel's reservations department for taking care of a returning guest like me by promptly upgrading our room, which made our trip incredibly comfortable and enjoyable. The hotel's ski valet is a major reason why we ski here; it saves so much effort when you're tired from skiing. Last year, I remember there were enthusiastic staff members who helped with putting on and taking off ski boots; it seems that service isn't available this year. It would be even better if it were! 😄 Thank you! 🙏

For us it is the second time in this wonderful hotel and every time it is like living a dream: it feels like being in a bubble thanks to all the well-being in which you are immersed. You are pampered by every service present and by the kindness of the staff, which makes you feel at home. The food is simply divine and you would just like to have a more spacious stomach so you could taste more and more. Nature is unsurpassed, every day you find yourself meeting spectacular creatures even just going out a short distance away. You will not find a similar place in all of Japan, where man meets nature in a perfect combination of balance, harmony and deep respect. We hope to be able to return a third time and relive this beautiful dream again. Thank you for everything Kitakobushi Shiretoko Hotel!

A premium stay and an absolute haven for onsen lovers While this property comes at a premium price point, the quality of the amenities makes for a highly memorable stay. The room was generously spacious and comfortable, and the dining experience stood out with a truly impressive buffet offering. However, the absolute highlight of this hotel is the hot spring facilities. The onsen—particularly the one located on the 8th floor—is spectacular and I cannot praise it enough. If you are an onsen lover visiting the area, this is undoubtedly the hotel to choose.

The basics of all city hotels - location, location, location..... !!! And Hotel Stream is smacked in the heart of everything Sapporo has to offer unless you prefer a quieter and calmer spot then this hotel is NOT for you. Rooms are pretty standard in terms of size and amenities, it's, quiet, and great for city strolling. If your intention is to use this hotel as your base to do day trips to Furano & Biei, The Hill of the Buddha Moai, or the renowned Otaru (which unfortunately isn't that muchl unless you're a die hard music box & glass making fan) this is your BEST CHOICE until Hyatt House opens in Oct 2026 (a bird told me - for those Globalist out there) . Oh... a BIG tip by the way (if you've been reading till this point: request for a room with a direct view of the Sapporo's ferries wheel (not that I am a fan lol) or the view of the Nikka advertisement on my attached photo - they are worth it. It's amazing to sleep with such stunning view and wake up to one..... (check out my photos taken from my room) In case you wonder if that pic of me by the glass overlooking thr Nikka ad sign - that's the main breakfast restaurant where you will be having your daily breakfast but u have to get there early to book that seat, otherwise sit through breakfast till they close and then u get to take this photo for as long as you please...... Ok ok ok... i know I'm a little long winded. But hey... oh yeah... u need to know that you can take a limousine bus from CTS (Chitose International Airport) to Susukino which takes about 50mins on way for JPY1500 per person. Easy weasy and the from the bus stop in susukino where most will disembark - it's only a 5min walk to Hotel Stream which ISN'T that obvious as the hotel sign is NOT exactly on the building. You have to look out for a building that reads ”Coco-something” (ops forgotten the name of the building) and the hotel lobby is located on the 7th floor of that building which also house a shopping center, movie theater and numerous restaurants. If you're srill reading this - give me a like already and don't be stingy with that click will ya? Lol. This hotel is nestled high in the mountains, between Lake Toya and the Sea of Japan. The view from the window is absolutely stunning. They offer a shuttle service from the train station, and there's also a stop for Lake Toya. The Japanese breakfast was incredibly refined and delicious. Unfortunately, my stay was too short, and I didn't get a chance to explore Lake Toya. I'll definitely be back for another two nights!
