Belmond Monasterio: The Best Hotel in Cusco, Beyond Any Comparison
Without exaggeration, Belmond Monasterio is the best hotel in Cusco. Even after trying two other higher-priced Belmond properties and the JW Marriott, I still firmly believe this is the ultimate choice.
The beauty of this hotel is beyond words. The elegant public spaces and tranquil gardens create an atmosphere of timeless serenity. The classic, historic walls whisper stories of the past, while the dazzling golden chapel adds a breathtaking sense of grandeur. Every detail is a masterpiece.
Yet, what truly sets Belmond Monasterio apart is its service. The staff are warm, professional, and genuinely caring. Their service attitude is impeccable—perhaps the best in South America. A prime example: when I lost my credit card, they found it and returned it promptly. Compared to the Los Cabos Waldorf (which I mention due to its premium pricing), this hotel’s service is on another level—infinitely more personal, thoughtful, and heartfelt.
I would love to give special recognition to my butler, though unfortunately, I have forgotten his name.
In short, I cannot recommend this hotel enough. Endless love for Belmond Monasterio.

Our train back from Machu Picchu was delayed, so we didn't get to the hotel until 10 PM. Upon entering, we were immediately greeted by a cozy warmth. The turndown service was already complete, and there was even a hot water bottle. It was hands down the best night's sleep we've had so far on this trip. The hotel itself is incredibly stylishly decorated. Breakfast is a buffet, but you can also order à la carte. The coffee is excellent too. Highly recommend!

The photos don't do justice to the place! The hotel is fantastic--the location is close enough to the attractions but just outside of the main tourist area since it's up on the hillside, so it's the perfect combination of convenience and relaxation. The check-in process was so welcoming, we felt at home as soon as stepping into the hotel's courtyard. The views from the hotel were unbelievable; the breakfast was great; the rooms were very clean and has all the comforts you'd need. And don't miss the llamas in the backyard! The restaurant staff didn't seem very experienced but it was sufficient.

zaddyThere’s a baby alpaca that works in the courtyard! The hotel is nice and clean and all the staff are friendly and helpful. The only drawback is it’s slightly further from the main square, but it’s not too bad if you enjoy strolling through the city. The location is closer to the more local part of Cusco so the restaurants nearby have more Peruvian fare, highly recommend!

Highly recommended, I’d definitely stay here again
Location is unbeatable: just a 3‑minute walk to Plaza de Armas, perfect for exploring the city on foot.
Rooms are comfortable and clean, with a cosy bed and a heater available at all times. No TV in my room but honestly, with everything nearby, you won’t miss it 😄
Extremely helpful staff, genuinely some of the most supportive I’ve ever encountered. They were incredibly accommodating and even helped me multiple times late at night when Rappi wasn’t working and I needed to order food.
If you have early tours (4:00, 5:00, 6:00 AM), just let them know in advance — they’ll happily prepare your breakfast earlier for you, which I really appreciated.
They also decorated our room exactly as requested, which made our stay even more special.

Katari Apart Hotel at Qorikancha was the perfect accommodation for my 3-day trip to Cusco! It is in a great central location, within walking distance to the various plazas with shopping and restaurants. My room was great - clean and comfortable with a kitchenette and private bathroom. Alex was an INCREDIBLE host - he was so attentive and responsive and gave me some excellent recommendations for things to do and see and restaurants to eat at. I was able to store my luggage after check out on my last day since I had an evening flight and Alex helped hail a taxi for me to ensure a fair price and safe ride.

Anonymous UserWe booked the two‑bedroom apartment, which shares one bathroom — a practical layout that works well for families. The stove took a little getting used to at first, but we figured it out quickly. The kitchen came stocked with plenty of cookware and utensils.
It’s an 8‑minute walk to Plaza de Armas; the stroll is gentle and helpful for altitude acclimatisation after arriving in Cusco. A supermarket sits right downstairs, incredibly convenient for picking up groceries to prepare meals before early‑morning Rainbow Mountain hikes or treks. One thing to note: this property does not offer luggage storage after check‑out.

Lady KwenadiMy experience at Andean Dreams Hotel was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. The highlight was definitely the staff, who went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable and stress-free. They kindly allowed me to store my large luggage at the hotel while I traveled to Machu Picchu, which was such a huge help and truly appreciated.
The cozy atmosphere was made even better by their thoughtful touch of offering tea available all day — perfect for keeping warm after long days exploring the Andes. It felt like a little home away from home.
If you want a place with genuine kindness, helpful service, and cozy comforts in a beautiful setting, Andean Dreams is the perfect choice. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the region!
