Villa Bliss a Paradise of Three Independent Villas

Villa Bliss is situated on the edge of a busy road limited to motorbikes & has surrounding rice fields. We stayed in villa 1, the smallest of three. The Villa is very private with it’s own pool overlooked by the living area, large outdoor bathroom & comfortable king size bed. Breakfast was made every morning (eggs, fruit, toast, pancakes) and villa cleaned by the wonderful staff. The pool was maintained by the pool boy/Gardner & there is a security guard on duty 2pm-6am. Make sure you organise a scooter ($7.00 day) through the villa before you arrive as you will definitely need one to get around. VIP Membership to Finns Beach Club was included and this was a pinch myself moment for me. Do yourself a favour & just go, it’s an experience you won’t forget. Tucked away at the end of cluster of non sensical streets the villa is indeed a pleasant sight as you walk into your garden (unsure if the two adjoining villas are the same but same firm) With a sizeable pool to swim in and a cabana adjoining many an hour can be spent here. The kitchen is also adjacent in the shape of a seperate open fronted building which flows into the pool area perfectly. All appliances were there though some parts we could only guess at their past use as there seemed to be a lot of left over and repeated items. The fire extinguisher must have been there for display only as its expiry or manufacture date was set in 1993. I can’t recommend this villa if you have young children unless you have a sixth sense about their whereabouts at all times. There were a couple of gaps in the wood planks surrounding the pool in which to trip a foot and some steps of the pool underwater were broken, so watch your toes! It was kept nice and clean but beware the statue on the edge of the pool: it’s been broken in the past and any weight put on it could see it fall on you. The three bedrooms had split system A/C which worked well if not a little noisy. All bedrooms have outdoors ensuite’s which explains the ridiculous height of the fence surrounding the property as building works at the time were in progress. It seemed a popular question to the owners so I assume most renters wish to go naked while holidaying here, you can of course but remember the cleaning staff arrive around 9am. In one of the master bedrooms to the right, the shower slope was inadequate to help the water drain away and it largely headed to the toilet, unfortunately there is no drain here so if you sit on the throne your feet get wet and worse, you can’t drop your shorts without dipping those into the waste water. The communal living space sits under a grand Balinese rising roof which unfortunately isn’t quite waterproof. This wasn’t really a concern until you try walk on a marble floor when wet - you’re going to slide which I did a few times. Even the area around the pool needs special care with wet feet. Outside of the villa is a very small lane leading to an even smaller one which is only passable with a scooter of which many use it. Using it to walk to the nearest shops for supplies is indeed interesting having to share it with these crazy scooter riders but there’s no real choice. The supermarket was great with a very good selection of items, I was pleasantly surprised. We found an app similar to Uber the difference being you can pretty much order anything including transport and you pay for your rides/goods on arrival. It was so much cheaper than hailing a taxi with less hassle - it worked out half price of any other taxi. I will just say I was prewarned about the recent building works but I wasn’t prepared for how long they went on for…it’s quite insidious and really detracts from the tranquil setting you’re in.
