GGuest UserWe stayed at Thikana Delhi for a full week and very much enjoyed our stay there. Owners and staff are very kind, always ready to lend a book about Delhi or help out with laundry or booking trains. Although Thikana Delhi is located close to a relatively busy street, our room was very quiet, and there are beautiful common areas. We also particularly liked that the breakfast table (mind you, breakfast comes at an additional price) is shared by all guests, making for interesting and insightful conversations.
GGalaTravelerThis is a good, clean hotel. The rooms have all the amenities: air conditioning, a fan, Wi-Fi, hot water, a European-style toilet… there’s a wardrobe, mirrors in the room and shower, and blinds on the windows… a comfortable, large bed with clean linen and a blanket. I had stayed here once before, but it was expensive. This time, I booked the hotel in advance through Trip.com, and with points earned from multiple flight bookings and reviews, it turned out to be quite affordable, with a significant discount (much cheaper than on ***********). But… after I checked in and double-checked the prices, it turned out to be much cheaper on *********** 🙈. In the end, I used all my points for nothing 😅, and my 'win' in price was actually a 'loss.' Booking on Trip.com is good, if only because you can pay with a Russian card. But you constantly need to monitor and compare prices with other booking services and book right before your arrival. Regardless, I was happy – for a good price, I stayed in a nice, cool hotel during the hot season. Outside in Paharganj, it was unbearably hot and dirty (( and the hotel was my salvation 🙏. I recommend it.
GGuest UserThe apartments are located in a good quiet area, close to the metro. The rooms are old but clean. The bed is comfortable. Kumar, hosting guests, is very responsive. Good cooks, but breakfast is scarce. For breakfast, coffee and tea are not provided. Hot water is always there. Of the downsides: only one working socket for charging is available. Overall everything was nice, I recommend.
NNikulinI really liked the hotel. Of the several places I've stayed in the country, this was the best.
Pros: Very friendly and helpful staff. Cozy lobby. The room is neat and atmospheric, almost stylish. The bed was comfortable, and the plumbing worked properly. There was no noise. The location is good – there's a McDonald's across the street, lots of modern coffee shops and cafes, but with hefty prices, as well as the standard Indian delights – kiosks, micro-stores, etc. The park is a 10-minute walk away. The area itself is much nicer than Main Bazaar and Karol Bagh, which are popular with tourists. If we'd known this, we wouldn't have stayed in those two areas before. The area around this hotel has a better and safer atmosphere. I think that's what we liked most.
Cons: Instead of a window, there's a honeycomb glass wall, like the ones in swimming pools in the 90s. There's light, but you can't see outside. This is perhaps the only downside to this hotel, of which there are many, many in India.
I don't know anything about the metro; we only took taxis these days.
VVLADYSLAVThe hotel is a lovely home stay.
For the hotel bed and breakfast it’s ok, but the price is quite high imho.
The room is very authentic with a lot of decor. But the towels and bed sheet should be already be changed, they are grey and smelly.
The stuff is extremely helpful and friendly, can help you with everything.
The breakfast is ok, not much choice to eat, toast, bread, butter, fruits, eggs and corn flakes.
