I usually stay at the Kolam Adyar branch and it was completely booked out and they suggested this option. I stayed here a couple of days last week. Chennai is still in a sort of lockdown and the service apartments is located on the main Elliots beach road, that is barricaded! So it was a bit of shock to the system to do roundabouts with the barricades, asking police permission etc just to get inside! So yes, incase you are travelling with senior folks and kids, please call the service apt ahead. I literally was the only resident for 3 nights, which was a bit strange initially, but I quite enjoyed having all that space! So here are some pointers Positives - Great location, the terrace and some of the rooms have an uninterrupted view of Elliots beach and it was great - The service apt was generally kept neat and clean, the rooms were comfy, bathrooms were clean and working. Since this is not a hotel, incase you need your room cleaned etc, you will have to ask - Service by Tamil and Satya was good and responsive Can be improved - While the service apt had a microwave, water dispenser etc, gas connection etc they were not working. so incase you want to cook or make meals, you might want to check in ahead - Kolam should add an electric kettle, for those who want to make a quick tea or something - The breakfast options while decent are pretty limited, but the sambhars, chutneys, curries tend to be on a slightly spicy side Overall, this is a good option in the Elliots area, considering the place is rather residential and you don't have ***y decent hotel options
