From the moment of arriving to the moment of leaving, the warm welcome and attentive service was wonderful. This is a lovely, charming 4 star château between Burgundy and Champagne and the family hospitality is felt throughout. Friendly faces upon arrival, beautiful, spacious bedrooms, the relaxing spa, (a bit late in the year in November for the swimming pool), the delicious gastronomic restaurant...It is a veritable home from home! Heading south to the Côte d'Azur or to the Alps, it's a fabulous place to stop off en route, but is also just a great place to spend a few days in Burgundy/Champagne. Perfect for tasting Champagne and Burgundy wines and also sneaking something special into the boot! Thank you to the whole team for a fabulous, friendly experience!

This place is excellent in every way. The rooms are individually and beautifully decorated and the staff are very proffessional, skilled and charming. A particular feature is the restaurant with its innovative and delicious food, elegantly presented. Perfect!

The establisment is way more worn than what you would expect from the pictures. If you’re expecting luxury, you are at the wrong place. Two barhrooms in a room is nice but you would then expect that even one of them would work properly. One was not fixed to the wall properly and the other made a terrible noise while flushing. The pool areas walkways wooden surfaces were grayed out and in desperate need of upkeep and a new coat of oil/wax. Leaves were littered on all outdoor surfaces and no one to rake them or even just tidying up the walkways. The spa is also rundown. A hammam that has a door that needs to be forced open and covered in limescale buildup, the towels smelled like they had not been dried properly but just left moist. Feels like the whole infra has been left unattended and the place is just there to make as much profit as they can before it becomes unsuitable to accomondate people. The service was pleasant for a French establishment which is a plus. Although, you should not expect any flexibility.

We stopped at chateau De Courban on our way driving from Paris to Valence. We only stayed one night, but we wished we had booked for 2 nights. It is the ideal place to get away and relax in the french countryside. In fact if you live in Paris and want a quick getaway to just chill, read a book, get massages and eat good food, this is the spot. The grounds were beautiful, the staff was lovely and the room which we stayed in the main building was nice and big. The bed was comfortable, towels were plush, plenty of closet space, espresso machine and bottled water were complementary. The restaurant was excellent, the sommelier was very knowledgable but a bit pushy and they were able to accommodate my gluten free diet. A couple of nuisances were the flies in the room. In fact throughout the property there were many flies. The pool was also not the cleanest , so I did not swim. I wanted to try the Spa however they were completely booked. I recommend reserving ahead of time to take advantage of it. I will definitely go back. I give it my GoldnAdvice seal of approval.

Fantastic, possibly the best Hotel I have ever stayed in in terms of amazing room and amazing food. I stayed in a room in the main old building (35 or maybe 55?) following a very welcome upgrade upon arrival. We were given a really warm greeting by the lovely Manon ( a great friendly and helpful asset to the hotel) booked us in and showed us around the facilities before showing us the truly amazing rooms. In the restaurant we had the 5 course tasting menu and loved every course and the numerous 'amuse bouche' all beautifully presented and served with elegance and care. Wow just wow. I have stayed in plenty of 5 star resorts around the world this was right up there I can't wait to go back again, certainly the best Chateau expeience I've had.

Stunning hotel, with a restaurant "to die for". Staff so lovely and the place was so cosy. We will be back as the location is half way between the UK and the south of France. We have already recommend this hotel to friends. Pet friendly and lovely to walk through the walked garden and spa area.

At last! A Michelin-starred restaurant that is truly welcoming to our four legged companion. We enjoyed two evenings of fine dining with our pet obediently resting beside our table. Our room was exceptional, with a spacious outdoor decked area. The hospitality of all staff seemed sincere and the bi- or trilingual front house staff made us feel at ease about our lack of confidence in understanding spoken French. We will most definitely re-visit this establishment on any return visit to France.

The Chateau is stunning on the edge of a lovely old village. We were upgraded to a wonderful spacious room with a huge luxury bathroom. The restaurant was amazing, they have a fantastic chef, it was expensive but worth it for the quality of the food and service. As good as any Michelin starred restaurant in London. In summary an expensive treat. We were there in January I imagine that in the summer it would be delightful as it has a lovely pool and outdoor areas.
