Dali Ankangyu Homestay Reviews

The room was pleasant and comfortable. We had requested a quiet room, but unfortunately we were assigned one next to the reception. While the noise during the night was caused by other guests and not directly by the hotel, it did affect the quality of our rest. Additionally, the room felt quite humid, as only a small window in the bathroom could be opened, while the large window in the main room was fixed. For these reasons, we would likely consider other options for a future stay.

booked the first floor because we had big luggages. When we check in the guy said they "upgraded" us to a good taking photo room and will help with the luggages. He brought up 1, left 1 downstair. There was no water the whole day so I have to use "the public toilet" at the 1st floor with cold water take shower, and carried the water upstair ourself to use the ketle to heat it up for my friend to take the shower. That's not even all. At night there was raining and the water kept on dropping from the ceiling. we asked to move room but the guy said we have to wait until the next day. Finally got moved after pull in a Chinese friend to help with talking. Got moved to a 3km away from town with no amenities, in a dark valley and walking distance to nothing. Thou the manager/owner said sorry with a good manner, he did not really want to solve any issue.

the location couldn't be better and the house is BEAUTIIFUL! both staff and guests were incredibly friendly and welcoming! the only thing that bothered me was the toilet/shower situation. it is basically just a squat toilet with a showerhead! no place to hang my clothes/towel. and there is no toilet paper or bum gun so i always have to use the showerhead to keep clean... but besides that, lovely stay!

Location is great. Staff not friendly, the guy just showed me the room and didn't say a word. The hostel might have been nice but I don't know as no one explained where the common space is, it seems people live there and have their own private space. One guy was helpful in showing me the bus station but I don't know if he works or lives there. The room was dark and the bed was full of hair, the walls were mouldy.

Very cool hostel in great location in the heart of old town! The room feels very cozy and historic. The owners are very nice and friendly. However as the toilet is located in the room there is a strong smell of urine, I had to clean the toilet myself to get rid of the smell as it was too much. There is also nowhere to put your belongings in the shower/toilet no hooks.

Fabulous place and wish I could have stayed longer. The manager was exceptionally friendly and helpful, it's in a quiet location (within very easy walking distance of Dali's main attractions), the place is clean and well-maintained, the bed was comfy, the Wi-Fi was strong, and there are good common areas available. Would definitely return. Great value for money. Highly recommended.

Beautiful and convenient, the only thing is not easy to find but location in map is correct just trust it. Some roads isn't in maps

Fantastic location. Nice and quiet. Iijed the fact it was possible to sit outside your room in the sunshine. Very relaxed and friendly.. loved the single room.. only downside was the shower wasn't very powerful.

Home owners are all very frendly and helpful. There is 1 staff who can speak English so our check in procedures had no problems. They were suprised that we (foreigners) could find out their homestay. You can chat with them via wechat (weixin) for any help and check out. They support late check out if possible. The room meets our expectation for low budget travelers. Beautiful garden, friendly cats, a little bit old smell of old house but it does not affect our good experience. Thanks for the warm welcome!

Pretty hotel with very cozy room and the owner was helpful and nice

The host is really nice. Pick me from our tour guide driver. Location is good near Dali Ancient City. There is also halal restaurant, walk about 10 minutes.

While it’s an authentic space, there were some issues. No heat, no hot water, a trash bag tied to the ceiling to keep out leaks, and next door through thin walls there were cats locked in and meowing the whole time. There was a hot water tea kettle to use for a toweling down, and an electric blanket. But some of the lights didn’t work - flickering with shotty wiring, so I was afraid I would be electrocuted. Cracks in the windows let the cold air in. I like a little quaint ambience but I would never stay here again. Of course I only paid like $15.

The staff was very friendly. The location was strategic and not far from dali ancient city...There halal restaurant nearby (walking distance around 6 minute)...The cats are very cute🐱..
