Newhall Mains

Loved the place. Such a great stay. Would very strongly recommend to anyone who wants a special trip away or is passing through the Black Isle. Euan and his team couldn't have been more helpful, the drinks and food were delicious and I loved cycling to Fortrose on the eBikes!

Amazing stay at Newhall Mains at the end of April. The staff make this place magic - Chris, Euan and kitchen and cleaning staff are just lovely. The setting is country pastoral and the Catriona cottage is simply beautiful, spacious. The giant kitchen, fireplace, and the fitting room were incredible. We cannot recommend this place enough.

The cottage was gorgeous. Everything from its interiors design, to all the amenities that you would need for a stay. The food and the service was delicious and the use of local food was lovely. I cannot recommend this place highly enough, simply glorious. My take away was, “I want to live here”.

This is a very very nice place to stay! A gem on the Black Isle to stay and eat. Extremely delightful people at the hotel and a perfect break for us on all levels. Lots of attention to detail at this beautiful hotel. Heading to Brora for our next experience in this beautiful part of Scotland.

Newhall Mains is a series of luxury rooms and cottages in a converted agricultural buildings on an estate in the Black Isle. It was fabulous and highly recommended. From arrival to departure, it was a great stay. We had the three-bed cottage which will was extremely comfortable and well appointed. The staff were terrific, friendly and helpful, especially the manager. The restaurant served consistently high quality and interesting food. If you’re staying for a few days in the Inverness area, this is the place to stay.

It does not get better than Newhall Mains. The service was on a different level, incredible setting and would be a great place to visit at all times of the year. Fully recommend to anyone that wants to feel the full force of what northern Scotland has to offer

The finest accommodations and service of our 10 day visit to Scotland! Every bit of furniture and furnishings was first-class. Felt as if we were guests at a private country estate, away from the hustle and bustle. Staff was welcoming, friendly and so helpful. Dinner and breakfast were lovely, and really enjoyed our time chatting at the bar. Visited the cute seaside village of Cromarty. Even the weather was perfect! We absolutely give Newhall Mains the highest recommendation to others.

This hotel has been designed and finished to the highest standards with service in all but the evening restaurant outstanding. Michelle and team can’t do enough to help and you’d want her fronting any hotel with her infectious smile and genuine desire to help. We took our dog and she was made very welcome too. The rooms and communal areas are beautifully designed with a modern elegant style. The room was clean and well appointed with excellent soaps, shampoo, etc. The bar and restaurant needs work. It’s okay. It’s a shame, as it has the potential to be outstanding however it falls well short of this. There is a set evening menu each night (we only stayed one night). The dinner we had was barely edible as the trout (suspiciously salmon looking) was undercooked and the potatoes were over seasoned. The starter and all courses very average quality with terrible presentation. The cheese was straight out of the fridge and Tesco tray selection is better. Breakfast was fine but again, with a little effort from a good chef and it could be great.

Absolutely stunning building in a beautiful location. We treated ourselves to the Catriona one bedroom cottage and it was even more sumptuous than in the photos. There was a door from the living room into the courtyard which catches the sun for most of the day. We really could have stayed for days and hope to return soon. The breakfast was wonderful and dinner very good - all supported by helpful and cheerful staff.
