"Our stay was lovely. We liked the novel idea of staying in someplace that is technically a castle. The room was nice and clean and the bathroom was spacious and very clean. They didn't offer the info to us when we arrived, but we ended up walking ourselves around the hotel and found the reception desk person giving another couple a tour of the hotel and telling them the history -- I'd have been disappointed to have missed this, but I'm glad we got the info regardless that it wasn't offered to us. Had dinner and drinks in the Green Lady Lounge which was nice and had good food."

"This hotel is ok, the setting is behind a council estate so not much to look at. The rooms are standard but a bit shabby. Carpet was torn and hadn't been repaired. The beds are big and comfortable. The bar area is nice but the reception and formal dining areas didn't have any atmosphere and were very quiet. The dining area is dated and run down, and not in a nice 'I'm in a castle' way. The service was good and the food was nice."

"Room smelt damp Curtains hanging in at least 3 areas off the rail Creased marked damp feeling linen on bed Mug stuck upside down to tea tray Carpet not hoovered Splattered walls with marks The bathroom was the most disgusting of it all. Fan in bathroom covered in dust and stuff Walls and ceiling mouldy Tap in sink hanging on Rusty finishing Shower revolting sludge and mould around base Breakfast was there if we wanted we got out of there asap."
