Days Inn by Wyndham San Marcos

So previously staying here I had ordered a smoking room and had stayed for a couple weeks. This time around I had ordered a room and apparently it was non smoking. I had no problem smoking cigarettes outside of the room. After 3-4 days of staying they wouldn't extend our stay saying the room smelled. First of all room service hadn't been to our room since the day before yesterday so why did they choose today to not accommodate us. If that was really the reason then they should have said something about it yesterday. Frankly, we didn't smoke in the room so I wanted to make sense of the whole situation. Over the phone the manager then said that the last stay we had a smoking room and since this time we had non smoking that we had to leave and that's the reason why we couldn't stay. Personally I think that since it was a holiday weekend that they wanted to rent out to people who don't use the third party apps to save money and basically having someone else willing to pay extra for the room. So guess that we didn't require any type of warning or let us know ahead of time that we had to find somewhere else to stay. What a inconsiderate and vague reason to DNR someone that follows the rules like everybody else.

Very outdated and unclean. Parking lot had vehicles with steering wheel locks to help not have vehicles stolen, one guest has his own make shift furniture renovation station in the parking lot, a room had two cats lounging in the front window with extremely tattered curtains (I.e. a long term rental situation not a hotel), no covers on the mattresses, filthy and funky smelling. Stayed in a friends car to get out of the area because I was concerned with my safety. Returned only in the daylight to shower. NEVER staying here again.

The rooms have always been very clean in the past but the floors were dirty when we first checked in & were never cleaned throughout visit.

My window would not lock Did not like that people came In out of the parking lot w/0 passes on the dashboard. Did get moved to a room where window locked. But didn’t feel safe after moving to 3 Different rooms.

Ongoing construction in adjacent room, NO water in shower, cockroach in the tub, terrible internet reception, rude guest services at checkout.

Friendly staffs. Shortest on towels and soap. They were replaced by a friendly staff quickly.

The price was right. The room was small and cramped, even with just 2 people. For 1 night, just to sleep, it was fine.

The room was clean. The bed was broken down on the edges, if we got too close to the edge we would have rolled out of the bed. The toilet looked like a child size. It was small and very short. The tub/shower faucet needed to be repaired/replaced, it was very difficult to turn on. The tub did not drain too well. The drapes were very old and limp from being washed.Overall it needs to be remodeled/updated I would not recommend it to anyone!
