The room was so empty it echoed. The fridge? Completely empty — not even a bottle of water. I needed to take a painkiller and couldn’t. Blankets were old and smelled bad. Sure, there’s a ceiling fresco, but that doesn’t help when the room feels cold and lifeless. There was no sense of hospitality at all — just a nice façade with zero care behind it. If you go, lower your expectations and don’t say you weren’t warned.

A large elegant room with a river view. The bed was large and very comfortable. The decor was basic but very clean. However, the ceiling had a 15th Century painting which was wow factors. This is not a B&B in traditional terms as it doesn't do breakfast but downstairs on the street is a fabulous cafe which opens at 10am. The hotel is on a street full of bars and trattorias but not noisy as it is up on the second floor and overlooks the river not the street.

.This hotel is unique. A perfect, beautiful, large room with a view to the river There are fresco paintings on the ceiling in the room and on other ceilings in public areas of the hotel. The service was excellent, accurate and friendly. The most beautiful places and monuments are just a few minutes walk from the hotel. For example: Ponte Vecchio, Palazzo Pitti and the Boboli Gardens, the Basilica of Santa Maria Novella. There are lots of restaurants, souvenir shops, clothing stores and grocery stores right next to the hotel.

Superb location, a short walk from Ponte alla Carraia. We were in room 3 and had a beautiful view of the river. The hotel was incredibly spacious, with high, fresco ceilings. The rooms were simple but effective. The breakfast room is a work in progress, but when this opens, the room it’s situated in is very nice. Hotel staff incredibly friendly and helpful. No complaints whatsoever and would happily return the next time I visit Florence.

Location is convenient. Rooms are small, but to be expected of an older hotel. Breakfast is excellent. Beds are low, as there is only a mattress and no box springs. There is mold on bathroom walls, shower curtain and shower head. The beds were made up each day and fresh towels. But bathroom wasn’t cleaned and empty soap container in bathroom wasn’t replaced.
