I stayed in a room with shared shower and toilet.
It was cheap for a hotel in Helsinki.
However, it was far from the city center, so transportation costs were higher.
The hotel is in District B and can be reached by bus number 77 from Central Station.
The hotel had a kitchen so you could cook.
You had to bring your own oil, salt and forks.
There were three supermarkets within a short walk.
There were also several showers, and I think the one right behind the kitchen was the best.
The refrigerator in the room wasn't very cold.
Also, the reception door was often closed, which was inconvenient.

We had a need for a stay-away in Helsinki during our renovation at home. So, even as we travelled as a couple, this was not actually a romantic staycation, more of a escape-to-rest-and-rebuild :) For this purpose Arkadia provided us with the best experience - room 105 (double with good quality bed) was silent and very clean, with silent no-noise night, so our rest was v.good indeed. Arkadia is a hotel/hostel at Tattarinsuo-district, with excellent connections to city-center and airport by car. Otherwise the district does not have many services, so please prepare to do some transportation if you have evening plans. Parts of the hostel are under renovation, which is understable - nevertheless the room 105 was well refurbished; although not having all bells&whistles (minibar etc) it provided us with good experience overall. Personnel very kind and helpful, helping us with details we needed for our stay. I can recommend Arkadia for business travellers with no-nonsense mindset for overnight stays, and in general for travellers needing to stay in Helsinki next to good connections to major highways.

I stayed there maybe 1 hour and left. I booked it for one night but the place was so horrible I couldn't stay. The room smelled very bad and was dirty. I was afraid of bugs. The toilets were horrible. I have travelled around the world and stayed in budget places but this was the first one I couldn't stay.

This hotel is not good for health, Because there floor is too cold and room & bathroom is too cold also....New tourist easily can not find heater to get warm water... it’s too difficult. I suggest, no one can stay there and save money. As a result, it’s foolish.

A more appropriate rating is 0 stars. In addition to the dirt and stench from the review below, I add my rating for the service and the approach to the customer is greed and rudeness. My mistake, because I got the wrong airport (there are 2 next to vantaa) and I was looking for the nearest hotel because I would be there at night. I immediately informed the hotel about this. However, I didn't get my money back. They blame it on *********** so that they don't behave unethically. Just theft. I advise you to avoid this hotel. Moreover, a very poor location with poor transport to the center of Helsinki.
