Excellent
AAitanxiandemeinvThis is my second time staying at this hostel, and the familiar feeling brings a sense of peace as soon as I walk in. It's just a few minutes' stroll from the nearest subway station, which is super convenient for anyone with luggage or catching an early train. And the location is absolutely fantastic – whether I want to explore old houses downtown, visit tourist attractions, or find a small alley for some local food, there are buses, subways, and shared bikes readily available.
The room has everything you need: a mattress that's just right in terms of firmness, stable Wi-Fi, and a powerful air conditioner that works well for both heating and cooling. It's very comfortable and practical. What really impressed me is their free luggage storage service. Last time, after checking out, I spent the whole day exploring the area, and then came back calmly to pick up my bags for the train, without any rush.
This time I traveled light without much luggage, but last time I had a 28-inch suitcase that was so heavy I struggled to even lift it up two steps. Thankfully, the guy at the front desk helped me carry it upstairs. I'm really grateful for his assistance.

Outstanding
GGuest UserArrived late at night near the Bund, completely exhausted and dragging my luggage, but the 24-hour front desk still greeted me kindly. When checking in, they thoughtfully reminded me about the locker and laundry room locations. The hallways were clean and odorless, and the bed was soft and warm. The cleaning staff tidied the restrooms multiple times a day, and there was 24-hour hot water available on demand. In my free time, I enjoyed chatting about travel stories in the common area, and the hosts were genuinely engaging. It's an affordable stay, yet full of thoughtful touches – a stable and healing little corner even when you're far from home.

Very Good
GGuest UserThe location is great, very close to the subway station, making it convenient to get to The Bund and Nanjing Road. There are also plenty of dining options nearby. The hostel itself is quite clean; both the common areas and bathrooms are regularly tidied, which gives you peace of mind. The front desk staff are very friendly and welcoming without being intrusive. The hostel has a good atmosphere; you can sit and chat or relax in the lobby, which is perfect for solo travelers. The bunk beds have curtains, offering decent privacy, and there are sockets and a small light by the bed – everything you need is there. For this price in Shanghai, it's really excellent value for money. I'd definitely consider staying here again on my next visit.

Good
GGuest UserI specifically chose this hostel to experience the old Shikumen lane houses. It's tucked away deep in a bustling alley, and you have to navigate through winding old streets and traditional iron gates to get in. Stepping inside, you're immediately immersed in the vibrant atmosphere of old Shanghai, a delightful surprise for its tranquil location amidst the hustle and bustle. The renovated old house retains its vintage wooden windows and old floor tiles, and the courtyard is filled with greenery. I woke up to the aroma of breakfast stalls from the lane each morning, and in the evenings, I enjoyed the breeze in the courtyard, fully experiencing local life. The beds come with blackout curtains, individual reading lights, and charging ports. Storage lockers are complete, and the bedding is changed daily, fresh and odorless. The bathrooms are cleaned in sections, with 24-hour hot water. The public living area is spacious, with bookshelves, board games, a microwave, and a self-service washing machine – full of thoughtful details. The owner and staff are warm and genuine, proactively sharing local hidden gems for food and off-the-beaten-path routes, helping me avoid tourist traps. Shopping districts and the subway are within walking distance, and there are old-school pastry shops all around. The value for money is absolutely amazing. It's my top choice for solo travelers and students. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Shanghai!
GGuest UserThe room decor was incredibly thoughtful, vintage yet cozy. The cleanliness was impeccable; the floors and room were spotless and odor-free, which is truly a rare find in Shanghai. The common areas were also very comfortable, especially the dining table area which had a fantastic ambiance – it felt great just sitting and relaxing there. 🛋️ The owner was very kind, communication was smooth, and their recommendations were super helpful. Overall, for a short stay in Shanghai, this place was both quiet and unique, offering incredible value for money. I'll definitely choose it again next time!

GGuest UserI've stayed here for quite a while, and the staff are all diligent, responsible, and have excellent service attitudes, comparable to five-star service, with prompt responses. Some of the facilities are a bit old, but the sanitation is well-maintained; you wouldn't guess it's an old establishment. It's clear why it's been around for so long. Overall, it offers great value for money, and it's very convenient for business travel. If you need to take the subway, it's about an 8-10 minute walk.

SShuaiqixiaojingbaIt was a rainy day, and staying here was very convenient. You could embrace the misty morning drizzle, grab a small umbrella from the front desk, and wander into the alleyways of downtown Shanghai to experience the authentic, charming, and exquisite streetscapes and cultural atmosphere. Isn't that just wonderful?

YYizongshaoThe place was very clean, and the facilities seemed to have been renovated and were quite good.
However, the hairdryer kept overheating.
And the soundproofing was absolutely terrible; I could hear every footstep outside, which was a bit scary for someone living alone.
It's a bit far from the subway station, but it's not too bad if you can ride a bike.
