Shanghai Hotels with Bars

Stepping into the lobby, I was immediately drawn to the stunning flower arrangement at the front desk – so stylish and clearly freshly changed that day, it really brought the whole space to life. The hotel's overall Art Deco style, with its geometric lines and brass accents, was a feast for the eyes everywhere, from the elevators to the hallways, and perfectly suited my taste. The cleaning staff were also incredibly friendly, always greeting me warmly, making me feel as comfortable as if I were staying at a friend's house.

We celebrated my child's birthday at the Ritz, and the hotel was incredibly thoughtful in decorating the room. A special thanks to Rosy for her full-service assistance and to Scarlett for the carefully prepared gift and handwritten card. Also, the handsome guys and beautiful ladies at Flair were all very nice. I apologize for not remembering the name of the lovely lady who checked us in, but her recommendations for hotel benefits really saved us some money. The river view room was decent, and watching the lights of Pudong Development Bank from it was worth the price. Although it shows some signs of age, 'The Lion King' (referring to the Ritz) is still a worthy visit among the luxury brands in the city.

Service: Excellent, every staff member we encountered was wonderful. They even went out of their way to give snacks to our baby and helped us resolve a parking fee issue. Environment: Very good, the room was clean and came with complimentary baby toiletries. The hotel is next to a mall and has an outdoor play area. Children's Welcome Pack: Our baby absolutely loved it (it was his first time staying at this type of hotel). Admission to the Kids' Explorer Park for 1 adult and 1 child during stay: We're very grateful that the hotel managed to arrange free entry for two adults and one child. However, the park is more suitable for children aged five or six, and less so for those under three.

While the basic accommodation needs are met, there's definitely room for improvement in the details. In the mornings, there was often a loud banging noise from the corridor, which was quite disruptive and woke me up early, preventing a good night's sleep. The in-room facilities felt quite dated, and the bathroom waterproofing was inadequate; water would easily seep out during showers, making the floor slippery – a minor but present hazard. I hope the hotel considers renovating and upgrading the bathroom facilities and improving sound insulation between floors. On the positive side, the hotel's unique scenery and ambiance are big pluses. The lobby frequently features a resident band playing live music, creating a wonderful atmosphere in the common areas with their melodious tunes. The rooftop bar offers expansive views and an excellent sightseeing experience. The antique Rolls-Royce parked outside is a rare sight and makes for a stylish photo opportunity. Overall, it's a mixed bag of pros and cons.

This hotel far exceeded my expectations! First off, the huge floor-to-ceiling windows really brightened my day, and the daily room cleaning was impeccable. Second, a special shout-out to the housekeeping lady – I have back issues and can't sleep on soft beds, so I mentioned it to her when I left. When I returned, I found the mattress had been flipped, and I slept incredibly comfortably. Third, the room service was prompt and polite. Fourth, the breakfast buffet was absolutely delicious, and the late-night noodles were fantastic – who knew I could come back at 11 PM and get a piping hot and tasty bowl of soup noodles! Lastly, the airport drop-off service was such a thoughtful touch. I'll definitely stay here again on my next trip to Disneyland!

The hotel boasts an excellent location, and its blend of a magnificent historic building with East-meets-West interior design imbues every detail with profound depth and elegant charm. The guest rooms are spacious and comfortable, offering superb views of both sides of the Huangpu River. All the staff I encountered were well-trained, friendly, and provided efficient and attentive service. The breakfast buffet, featuring both Western and Chinese options, was abundant and authentic in taste. The Long Bar on the ground floor of the old building is highly recommended; it has been meticulously restored to its original appearance from a century ago, exuding a vintage yet exquisite ambiance. On Friday nights, live jazz musicians enhance the already fantastic atmosphere.

This was my second time bringing my 72-year-old mother to the Banyan Tree on the Bund, and it happened to be her zodiac birth year. The hotel specially arranged a birthday setup, full of ceremony, and even gave her a birthday cake. My mom was pleasantly surprised, and the service was as excellent as ever. Our butler, Cynthia, was incredibly thoughtful and warm, making us feel right at home! The rooftop terrace bar offers a direct view of the Lujiazui 'Three-Piece Suit' in Pudong, perfect for enjoying afternoon tea while admiring the beautiful scenery. The night view is even more stunning! The only slight drawback is that the hotel is a bit old, and the showerhead isn't very comfortable, but the cleanliness is still very good. Breakfast was quite ordinary, but my mom said she was very satisfied overall 😊 A special thanks to Alisa, who was so considerate of my mother. Because it was raining, she arranged a complimentary transfer service for us from the hotel lobby directly to the South Railway Station, putting a perfect end to my mother's trip to Shanghai 👍

First off, the room decor is absolutely stunning, as it always is at W hotels. I've stayed at Ws in Xi'an, Macau, and Chengdu, and now Shanghai – their design aesthetic is consistently modern and really resonates with us Gen Z. The room layout and attention to detail are spot-on. They never disappoint when it comes to style. Secondly, I won't go into too much detail about cleanliness; W hotels consistently maintain high standards, so no issues there. Thirdly, the service was excellent. Any request I had was promptly considered and accommodated by the hotel. You feel the exceptional service from the moment you step into the hotel. Staff members are present from the luggage drop-off all the way to the elevator lobby, waiting to assist. Furthermore, the dining experience was fantastic. The breakfast at every W I've visited has been superb, truly top-notch. Finally, since it was our first time at the Shanghai W, the front desk even upgraded our room! I was pleasantly surprised to find myself in a 'Marvelous Suite'. The whole experience was absolutely brilliant. The only minor drawback was that the drinks and room setup included in the Ctrip package weren't prepared in advance, even though I had called a day earlier. If those details could also be taken care of beforehand, so you walk into a fully prepared room, then this would truly be a 10/10 experience.

Excellent stay at Grand Central Hotel Shanghai! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We stayed in the Deluxe Business Double Room, and it was huge, spacious and very comfortable. The bathroom layout was especially impressive, with two sinks, a separate toilet, and separate shower facilities, which made it very convenient for a couple. My husband was particularly impressed with the room and said he would definitely like to stay at the same hotel again if we return to Shanghai. The hotel location is very convenient, and our room was clean and well maintained. The reception staff were polite, professional and helpful throughout our stay. The bell boys were also very helpful and attentive, always ready to assist us when needed. What impressed me most was the housekeeping team. The housekeepers were exceptionally warm, attentive and friendly. Whenever they saw us returning to our room, they would proactively check if we needed our room cleaned or required anything. They were always smiling and greeted us warmly whenever we met them. Their thoughtfulness and genuine hospitality made us feel very welcome. it is never an easy job to be a housekeeper tho. While the reception team was professional and courteous, the housekeepers added an extra personal warmth that made our stay especially pleasant and memorable. Overall, we had a wonderful experience at Grand Central Hotel Shanghai. Excellent room, excellent service and wonderful hospitality. We would definitely stay here again on our next visit to Shanghai! We checked in on the evening of October 3rd. It was a bit cold and rainy after getting off the subway. When we arrived at the hotel, front desk staff members #11 and #19 warmly introduced us to local attractions and even provided free breakfast vouchers. The breakfast was delicious and had a great variety. The housekeeping staff was very polite. I'm also very grateful to the front desk staff today for allowing a late check-out, which let my daughter rest well before heading to the airport. We will definitely stay here again next time!
