On my first night at Huangshan, I contacted the proprietress in advance. You can get a car directly from the high-speed rail station. After checking in, the proprietress patiently explained the arrangements for Huangshan and also lent us hiking poles. Living at the foot of the mountain, it is very quiet at night, and a good night's sleep guarantees the trip up the mountain the next day.
