"The price was reasonable, and it wasn't far from the downtown core compared to other hotels, which made it easy to get to souvenir shops and supermarkets. Parking wasn't super spacious, but there was always a spot available. There's a gas station right next door, so it was convenient to fill up before parking if you had a rental or your own car. The front desk is in the building right next door, and checking in and out was a breeze.
The best part was that the deposit refund was processed immediately. It was a huge relief not having to constantly monitor whether I'd get my deposit back, which is often a source of stress on trips. That was definitely the highlight."

"The location was fantastic. It was about a 10-minute walk to Banff town, and there was a bus stop right in front of the hotel.
Breakfast was included, so I had pancakes every morning – they were delicious!
I also received fresh bath towels daily, which kept things very clean.
The only minor drawback (and perhaps I just couldn't find it) was that there was only one restroom. If someone was using it for a while, it could be a bit inconvenient. It would be great if there were another one in the hotel.
I traveled alone, and the room was always quiet, making for a very comfortable stay. Thank you!
I'd love to stay here again on my next visit."

"We had a wonderful stay at The Rundlestone Lodge. The hotel was clean, quiet, and very comfortable, making it an excellent base for exploring Banff National Park.
The room was spacious, the bed was comfortable, and everything was well maintained. We especially appreciated the complimentary underground parking and the convenient location on Banff Avenue. Although it’s a little outside the downtown core, it was easy to drive or take the local bus into town.
The staff were friendly and welcoming throughout our stay, always happy to answer questions and provide recommendations.

"The room, while a bit dated, was generally clean and had a decent feel to it. The best part is its proximity to the main street, making it super convenient to get anywhere. We could quickly drop off our shopping at the hotel and head back out. Calgary's tax is lower than other places, so it's a great spot to grab some sports brands. There's also a cafe right outside the hotel that serves a fantastic flat white, and we even bought some beans to take home. All in all, aside from the slightly high summer prices, everything else was perfect."

"We had a wonderful stay at Bow View Lodge. The location is excellent, with the river just behind the property, providing a beautiful and peaceful spot to relax and enjoy the scenery.

"Having visited Banff multiple times, this is always my go-to hotel when staying in town. It's located right on the main road into town, making parking and walking around incredibly convenient! In winter, a dip in the rooftop 'hot springs' is an absolute must – it's a unique experience."

The town's bus stop is right in front of the hotel, and you can ride the town's public transportation for free. The restaurant on the first floor of the hotel is highly recommended – it's fantastic! However, the hotel does not provide slippers, toothbrushes, or other toiletries, so you'll need to bring your own or buy them at the town's supermarket.

However, there's also a bus stop right outside, and they even give you a free one-day bus pass, which is a nice perk. DDave van KampenWe were happy with this place. It seems dated but in nice repair (much like our home and ourselves). We wanted it mostly for the fireplace but the room had more than that with a full kitchen and full size appliances. If we ever wanted to be in Banff and make substantial home cooked food, this would be ideal. The bed was great and the staff very kind and friendly. It is in a natural mountain area just five minutes by car from downtown Banff. We had a balcony looking at a Mountain view and deer in the yard in front of the unit. There is bus service into town and free tickets offered by the resort. There is a water slide and an indoor and outdoor hot tub which is nice but not really a breathtaking setting. If you enjoy corn mazes this building has a lot of routing in it that takes a while to learn. We joked with other guests about that. All in all, pretty okay. We would book here again.

MMariaMG13We stayed at Royal Canadian Lodge in Banff from March 26–29 with my 7-year-old daughter, and overall we had a great experience.
Check-in was simple and straightforward. We arrived in the early evening, and Jason at the front desk was the most approachable and helpful hotel staff member I have ever dealt with. He remembered my daughter’s name, greeted her every day, checked in with us throughout our stay, and added little touches that made the trip feel extra special for both of us.
The renovated room itself was fairly standard for a hotel room, but comfortable. Our room had two queen beds, which worked well for us. The bathroom had a shower only, with no bathtub, but that was not an issue. The pillows were big and lumpy, all 8 of the pillows in our room were too high/tall for my daughter to use comfortably. There are robes provided in the room, it would be a nice touch if they could also provide kids size robes. We had a mini fridge, coffee maker with coffee, and kettle with tea provided in the room.
We ordered room service one night and tried the pulled pork poutine, which was the daily special from the restaurant. Unfortunately, it was not very good, and I would not recommend it.
The TV included free cable and on-demand programming, as well as pay-per-view movies. I had brought my laptop and an HDMI cord, and we were able to connect it to the TV easily to watch our own movies. Watching on-demand, my daughter discovered The Simpsons and loved it (lol)
The pool area was a big highlight for us. The pool is salt water rather than chlorine. The water itself was on the cooler side, but there was also a good-sized hot tub and a large steam room. My daughter quickly made friends with another family staying at the hotel, and the kids spent multiple hours a day in the pool together.
The gym was small but functional. In the four days we were there, it was empty every time we walked by.
Parking is $20 per day, which does add up. There is also free street parking behind the hotel if you are able to find a spot.
One fun feature in the lobby was the robot, which the kids absolutely loved. We were told that after construction is complete, it will be delivering items to guest rooms. During our stay it moved around the lobby, told jokes, and handed out free apples.
The hotel was reasonably priced compared with other options in the area. I chose it specifically for the pool setup, knowing we would be spending a lot of time there, and it worked out really well for that. Shops and restaurants on the main street were about a 10-minute walk away, or you could take the bus that stops outside the neighboring hotel for $2 per ride, with kids riding free.
I would definitely stay here again in the future. The price, location, rooms, and pool make this a very family-friendly hotel option in Banff.

The room amenities are quite basic, showing that the hotel is likely a bit older. Free parking is available in the hotel's underground garage. MMei-14Overall, my stay was very satisfying. From check-in to check-out, the staff were incredibly kind and consistently provided attentive service, which left a strong impression on me. The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable, allowing me to fully recover from my travels. The bathroom facilities were also well-maintained, which I appreciated.
The location was excellent, with restaurants and shops nearby, making it very convenient for sightseeing and dining. Access to public transportation was also good, which made getting around a breeze. The hotel itself had a quiet and calm atmosphere, allowing me to rest peacefully at night.
This is a hotel I would definitely like to use again if I have the opportunity. Thank you for a comfortable stay.

GGuest UserHotels in Banff in July were incredibly expensive. A decent hotel cost around 3,000+, which was beyond my means. Although I was initially hesitant to stay in a hostel-like hotel, I took the plunge and it turned out quite well. It's a bonus to have a roommate who doesn't snore.
Pros: Laundry, a kitchen, and a common area are all available, meeting basic needs. Cooking your own meals is fun and saves money.
Cons: Showering is inconvenient.
