"Almost missed this place because it was not in the ranking list. It is a hidden gem. To me what make this place stands out compared with the many highly rated lodging in the vicinity is its design (the unit I booked has a floor to ceiling window, raised platform w cushion seat and bean bag to chill and have tea, no silly bath tub at window). The view is to die for, exactly same as the photo displayed in trip.com (I thot the photo was enhanced but turned out it is exactly the same on site. Even the photo I took looks surreal. The rice terrace looks so near and the cascading stepped layers look so distinct) and the price is less and even half of the other listing. Definitely value for money. Only downside is the shower water pressure is a bit low and hot water needed a while and smart WC not calibrated well w zesty sensor at work.
Additional plus point, sunrise scene from your room if the clouds is in your favour. Good local home cooked food and attentive service from owner and family. Very near and easy stroll to lookout 1 and but tough yet short trail to lookout 2."

**Price:** Incredibly affordable! The owner even upgraded my room when I arrived. For the same room category and window view, other places would easily charge 400-500 yuan.
**Service:** Both the owner and his wife are incredibly warm and welcoming. Even before I arrived, they went out of their way to help me plan my itinerary and give directions. They were super patient too; I was so exhausted from sightseeing those days that I kept asking the same questions multiple times, and the owner always answered patiently. You can really feel that the entire family is genuinely kind – his wife, his mother, they all had smiles on their faces every day, and their eldest daughter was adorable and played wonderfully with my son.
**View:** Words can't do it justice, just look at the photos! I didn't even want to get out of bed in the morning. What viewing platform could possibly be as pleasant as watching the terraced fields from your bed?

"Seriously, what a find! This guesthouse is located at the highest point in Jinkeng Dazhai that's accessible by car, which saved us a lot of uphill walking. From here, it's just a 10-minute walk to Observation Deck No. 2 and 20 minutes to Observation Deck No. 1. The rooms are equipped with all sorts of high-tech facilities, spacious and comfortable, with a faint scent of tung oil. The large balcony offers direct views of the stunning rice terraces, perfect for time-lapse photography, or simply lounging around, daydreaming and sipping tea – a truly relaxing experience. We stayed here for two comfortable nights. The guesthouse even has an elevator, making it super convenient to get to the fourth floor. The owner's cooking is absolutely amazing, and even breakfast was very generous. They served complimentary homemade rice wine with every meal, and even gave us a souvenir when we left. "We just had one of the best stays we ever had. A few things that made up to that:
The couple that manages the place is absolutely lovely. We were treated very nicely, we were cooked excellent food and they would make sure we were comfortable all the time.
They helped us with some bookings, offered us some of their home made rice wine and cooked a variety of typical dishes. All delicious.
Location-wise, we couldn’t have been hosted in a better place. Between View-spot 1 and 2, and with a very nice hike to spot 3. The village is super quiet and chill - there’s nothing to do there besides relaxing and enjoying the surroundings. The Hotel has very nice views of the Rice Terraces too, so if it gets rainy or just want to be in the room, you still enjoy the setting.
And of course, we have to mention the little hosts that moan around the place: Mi Huan, their cute poodle; and quite a few cats, 5 of them being born when we arrived :)
Genuinely a very nice experience and definitely a place we would like to come back to in the future."

"The B&B's location is fantastic, offering breathtaking views directly overlooking the terraced fields – truly picturesque! You can tell the owner has put a lot of thought into it. You can drive quite close to the B&B, and they'll help you with your luggage up a short flight of steps.
The B&B's car provides transfers to the cable car station (for viewing platform 3 and Jinfo Peak). Viewing platform 2 is just opposite; they'll drop you at the foot of the mountain, and it's a 15-25 minute climb to viewing platform 2 (the Thousand-Layer Heavenly Ladders).
We had dinner on the first day and lunch on the second day at the B&B, and the food was delicious, especially the egg-fried rice, which had that wonderful 'wok hei' flavor. They served complimentary rice wine with every meal, which was sweet and had a very low alcohol content. The B&B also offers coffee and other beverages.
They even gifted us two bottles of rice wine at the end!
We booked two rooms; this particular room faced the terraced fields directly and had a balcony. You can also try catching fish in the rice paddies, which was a lot of fun."

We stayed in the village of Dazhai, in a hotel right next to the rice terraces. And it was the best decision of the entire trip.
Out the window, you can see endless steps of terraces that descend into the mountains. In the morning, you wake up, open the curtains, and before you is mist creeping down the slopes, and somewhere below, the village is already waking up. This isn't just a room; it's a view you'll want to take pictures of every five minutes.
It's not yet the high season (we were there in March), so there were almost no tourists. It was quiet, just the birds and the sound of the wind. Some of the terraces above were already flooded, and when the sun came out, the water sparkled so brightly it was breathtaking.
The hosts were very hospitable. They picked us up from the bus stop and helped us with our luggage. The room was clean, with hot water—everything you need after a long day with varying weather. In the evening, we sat in the hotel restaurant, ordering local dishes. In the morning, we were served breakfast with local noodles.
Main life hack: get a room with a view of the terraces. The price difference is small, but the experience is much more powerful. Even if it's raining (and we had a downpour with thunderstorms), sitting under a blanket and watching the fog cover the mountains is a special pleasure.
The observation decks are easily accessible from here. We hiked up the ”Thousand Steps” (about 20 minutes) and took the lift to the ”Buddha Gate”—the views from there are incredible, especially when the water begins to shimmer in the sun.
If you want to see the terraces in their true, living beauty, rather than in the crowds, come in March or April. And be sure to stay here. Here you feel not like a tourist, but a guest in the mountains."

Room: spacious, clean, with all the amenities as described.
Hosts: a young couple with kids and mother, nice, welcoming people. Although they do not speak English, you can easily communicate via WeChat. They helped me with booking a bus to Guilin.
The hotel is recommended for nice views and local village experience.
I would like to have a menu, as well as a sketch map of the area with observation platforms, villages, hiking routes in English. Information on local events and local but routes/ schedules would also be helpful for non-Chinese tourists."

"If you're visiting Longji Rice Terraces and Ping'an Village, this is definitely the place to stay! Everything about it is great!
The service is excellent, and the homemade dishes are delicious, especially the rice noodles – they're the best I've had in Guilin! For a scenic area, I think it offers good value for money. Two of us had dinner and breakfast for less than 150 RMB. The hotel also offers traditional clothing rentals for photos, which I loved! The owner is super friendly and even picked us up from the tourist center after we parked, and dropped us off again. Their cat is adorable and not shy at all!
PS: The sticky rice wine is really good and surprisingly potent – I actually felt a bit tipsy, haha! Definitely worth trying!"

Guest UserThis hotel is an absolute gem! I spent a lot of time choosing a hotel in Longji Terraces, debating whether to go to Pingan or Dazhai. We are so happy and grateful we ended up staying at Yanduoshansu Hotel. Everything about it was incredible. Gorgeous location at the highest point in Pingan Village, with a panoramic view of the rice terraces and village, without feeling crowded among other lodges. At night we slept with the windows open to the sound of a mountain stream and cool air. The room was very comfortable and beautifully decorated. But the highlight was the hosts who were so kind and friendly, despite language barriers. They helped us with luggage transfers, tips for hiking around the terraces and cooked the most wonderful, flavourful homemade dinner and breakfast - probably the best food we had on our trip to Guilin. Only wish we could have stayed longer.

The room condition was excellent, and the view was absolutely stunning. We could take amazing photos right from our room.
The owner was very thoughtful and paid great attention to detail. He's also a fantastic photographer; the pictures he took of our family of four were beautiful.
All our meals were at the hotel. The breakfast rice noodle set was very flavorful, and the lunch and dinner dishes were delicious, offering both home-style and local flavors.
Longji Terraces, we'll be back!

The views are great and the bedrooms clean, including the air. The bed was comfortable—but hard so make sure this is what you like. It was the first and possibly only one that was amply long enough for me and for a European I am not crazy tall.
The host was generally polite and friendly, but maybe due to the language gap a little laid back in providing information.
On arrival the main areas smelled very strongly of cigarette smoke and the host was casual with smoking behind the desk. This was also the case the next morning, so it was a bit difficult to breathe during breakfast. After a very long hike I decided not to return before having dinner as I was too tired to face the smokey room. However, after I returned there was a local lady there and the smoking had miraculously stopped and the air been cleared out… much better as the bedrooms are advertised as non-smoking and likely booked by many non-smoking patrons, so it was hard to understand the atmosphere of the shared area.
It meant it was unattractive to have tea in there even though it is offered in the package. The host was also not pro-active about offering this, including for breakfast. It is easier here if you are a person who demands things. I am not…
Breakfast was simple but good and the host was very kind in changing the menu for me when it turned out I didn’t eat pork.
For anyone inclined to walking to Ping-an: it’s nice and fun and a pretty walk but it’s quite long. I used the signs and Strava to navigate. However, you can take a didi (local Uber) back, so don’t worry too much about having to walk that too! In case you are like me and have no idea if didi’s operate in national parks. They do here.

When staying at guesthouses, you always worry about things not living up to expectations, and while the online photos looked great, this place really nailed the details. From the bedsheets to the toiletries, from the tea to the food at their restaurant – I highly recommend their spicy chicken and rice paddy fish – everything shows the owner's dedication. It felt just like being at home, very reassuring. The staff, especially the ladies, were incredibly accommodating. VivLMWe were so lucky that we've got upgraded to a family suite with amazing view over the mountain and it's surrounding. Our room are very clean and beautifully decorated. The location of the guest house to see the rice terrace is so amazing despite having walked up the hill for 10 minutes. The host also helped us with our luggages with a roped trolley. Our luggages got there before us! The host couple are so friendly and helpful, they went over and above to try to accommodate my fussy eater teenage boy! Guest UserFrom the moment we arrived, Jason and his wife took incredible care of us. They picked up our luggage right at the foot of the hill and had it carried up to our rooms while we headed off to explore Ping'An village — such a thoughtful touch that let us start our visit unburdened and worry-free.
The views from both the lobby and our rooms were nothing short of incredible — the kind of scenery that feels genuinely healing for the soul. We found ourselves just sitting and taking it in more than once.
Jason's hospitality went above and beyond throughout our stay. When my friend developed blisters after a long day of walking, they went through their entire ice supply just to help her ice her foot and get some relief. That kind of generosity and care is rare to find.
The decor throughout the property is completely unique — wood carvings and old doors that Jason salvaged and collected from old homes give the lobby and guest rooms so much character and history. It's clear this place was built with real passion and personal touch.
We also loved the food at the hotel restaurant, especially the traditional 竹筒饭 (bamboo rice) — simply delicious, along with everything else we tried.
Jason and his wife have created something truly special here. Can't recommend Baike enough — an unforgettable stay in every way.

By far one of the best hotel experiences we’ve ever had, not only because the installations are fantastic but also because of the friendliness of every staff member, the attention to detail and the hospitality. We arrived at 11 pm and the owner understood we were hungry and cooked us dinner despite the lateness (she even fetched vegetables from the garden behind the hotel), definitely our best stay in china and we’ve been traveling for 4 months.

Robert0_0One of the hotels with the best of of the famous rice terraces. We booked the round bed room and the bath and balcony view were amazing. As far as I checked, all rooms in this hotel face the same direction ans all have a great view. I think the higher you are, the better. However compared to many other hotels, all rooms here beat anything else .
Though the room looks a bit dated and the bed was stiff (spring bed), the shower, bath and balcony was great!
We were also able to eat and drink breakfast, lunch and dinner at the hotel. We had some miscommunication about an allergy, and tried to order without soyasaus. However twice we received the food with soyasaus after they mentioned we could order without. we sadly couldn't eat what we ordered, but we enjoyed what we could it.
Staff was very friendly.

非常完美的一次居住體驗，這裏不僅住的舒服，老闆一家也非常熱情，還喊我一起喝茶。而且他們家的吃的超級好吃，啤酒魚也不錯，早上起來還能在觀景台看日出，晚上看日落，房間裏就能看到梯田，衹能說完美。不過龍脊梯田交通不是很便利，這一點來之前要提前做好規劃。

All in all an extremely pleasant stay! The location is absolutely stunning. Sure, it might be a little bit off the beaten track, but the views are all the more rewarding and the hiking path from Dazhai is also highly recommended.
The hotel lobby also functions as a big living room and a little restaurant run by the owners. The food is excellent and well priced (definitely try their rice wine!). Because we were there in winter and it was cold, the owners even put a small radiator under our table to make it comfortable.
Generally, the owners were super nice and friendly and adding their absolutely adorable puppy, we almost couldn't bring ourselves to leave.
The rooms were very clean, have a small separate bathroom and we had a small balcony with view over the rice terraces. For a more budget option there is also rooms without AC or view, in that case you can still enjoy quite a bit of the scenery from the living room downstairs or just by exploring the surroundings on foot. (The picture is shot from our balcony, but sadly some of the view was obscured by the winter mist.)
We will definitely try to come again sometime in summer and are already excited thinking about staying in this hotel again.
