"The environment is excellent. It is the most beautiful among the small towns. The hotel is also quite historic. However, the service of the restaurant is really different from one waiter to another. I don't know if it is for Chinese people or what. There was a blonde who was very unpleasant in terms of attitude and ordering. Some were very nice."

"The family room booked can sleep three people no problem. The hotel reserved the best room with a small balcony where you can sit on the balcony and have a cup of coffee and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Parking is free, which is perfect."

"1. The location of the hotel is very good. It takes only 10 minutes to walk to the cruise ship terminal. There are many restaurants nearby and the accommodation is very convenient. The room is large and there is a living room, unexpected, but the living room side is on the bedside, next to the street, sooner or later, some noisy, especially the UK speed is generally faster, pay attention to it. Breakfast is prepared in advance bread yogurt cereal milk, some in the refrigerator, some in the locker, do not have too much expectations.
2. If you come by car, you will need a parking card with the front desk, which costs £3 a day. There are unlimited parking. There are several places to park. It is actually very convenient. When you leave, you can go to the parking lot to drive first, and put the key and parking card at the front desk when you come back."

"This castle hotel is 200 years old and has a very old English style. Staying in this hotel during Christmas feels romantic! Warm! Friends who accompanied me were very surprised! GGuest UserRum Doodle, well it was our first time at The Lakes and it certainly won't be our last! The location was just right with being part way between Windermere town and Bowness and was walkable to both. There were plenty of shops, bars and restaurants in walking distance as well as lake Windermere itself.
We found Rum Doodle with ease and was greeted at the door with a smile and friendly man (the owner but didn't catch his name). We were bought a fresh glass of apple and orange juice to our room which was refreshing after a long drive to Windermere. Our room was comfy, not too big or too small, a wardrobe, seating in the bay window, hairdryer, hot drink making facilities, wine glasses with cork screw and bottle opener. Very modern, clean and well presented bathroom with soft and fluffy towels, and a really nice shower. The bed was very comfortable and welcomed after a busy day exploring the surrounding area.
Breakfast was really good with cereal, fresh fruit and yogurt, toast, and then a choice of breakfast which were great too.
We had a pleasant and informative chat at breakfast with the lady that works there who gave us the heads up on some driving routes to try and avoid which was really useful.
After a day out exploring we went back to Rum Doodle to a cleaned room and freshly made bed with the tea and coffee replenished, so we were able to just drop and the bed with a nice cuppa and biscuit. Then out for a walk, some lovely food and a couple of drinks.
We couldn't recommend The Lakes and Rum Doodle enough! Well worth every penny

GGlynMy wife and I stayed at Burn How for 4 nights. Immediately we found the staff most welcoming and friendly. The pleasant atmosphere was maintained at breakfast throughout our stay. The spacious room- with everything you might need- was part of a block of chalets set romantically amongst some beautiful trees. If we return to Bowness we will look no further than Burn How for accommodation.

XXiaolubanbibabuThe atmosphere was very good. The check-in procedure was a little more complicated. We introduced each item, and then we had welcome champagne and the children had soda. The whole hotel was fragrant, with essential oils and chocolates at the bedside. There was also hot chocolate in the evening.

AAmy’s TravelsI’ve booked Low Wood Bay a few times but this was the first time using trip.com - we got an excellent deal and the customer service was brilliant from both trip.com and Low Wood Bay. There had been heavy snowfall so things were a bit up in the air with whether we would be coming or not due to road closures but the staff were brilliant. Thankfully we did get to come for the night and we’d booked the spa the following day. It is one of the best spas I have been to. The views are stunning. The hotel itself is really lovely, fantastic location, extremely clean and all the staff were super friendly. Will definitely be coming to stay again and can’t recommend enough for a relaxing break.

YYifanThis house was built in 1850. This house can be checked in through a password. The bed is soft and comfortable, the room is very warm, and the hot water is sufficient. It is a little bit far from the railway station, but very close to the lake. A good trip experience!

I was most dissatisfied with a male waiter, his attitude was particularly bad, I suspect he was a ******, his attitude was really bad, I have stayed in so many places in the world in hotels and B&Bs, this male waiter's attitude was the worst, I entered the staff area is my fault, but I entered from the restaurant, there is no staff only to enter the prompts, the male waiter kicked me out like a dog, I felt I was insulted.The waiter shooed me out like a dog, I felt insulted, it seems that the quality of the British people really needs to be improved.

PPriyanka BajirajThe property and the ambience is lovely. The view from the restaurant garden is very pleasant and beautiful. The room size, bathroom size and amenities were good. We faced 1 major problem to be precise which made us a bit sore.
Cleanliness - the room was clean except for the carpet. It didn’t feel like it was vacuumed. There was probably a pet staying in that room before us and there was a lot of hair on the carpet. I understand it is a pet friendly property and I have absolutely no problem with that. But cleaning the room properly before the next checkin is a basic expectation. We couldn’t step on the floor without our feet being covered with hair.
Apart from that, everything else was very good. Breakfast was also good and the customer service was very polite and hospitable as well.

PPeelyWonderful holiday at the Windermere Hotel with our dog!
Our lovely clean room with crisp white bedding was in the annex so vey quiet and only 10 yards away from the dog friendly bar which also served bar snacks for a very reasonable price.
We had breakfast included in the price and the dog was allowed to sit with us next to the dining hall with tables all set up for dog owners.
All of the staff from the minute we checked in were very friendly and helpful.
We will be back!
