"The property and the ambience is lovely. The view from the restaurant garden is very pleasant and beautiful. The room size, bathroom size and amenities were good. We faced 1 major problem to be precise which made us a bit sore. Cleanliness - the room was clean except for the carpet. It didn’t feel like it was vacuumed. There was probably a pet staying in that room before us and there was a lot of hair on the carpet. I understand it is a pet friendly property and I have absolutely no problem with that. But cleaning the room properly before the next checkin is a basic expectation. We couldn’t step on the floor without our feet being covered with hair. Apart from that, everything else was very good. Breakfast was also good and the customer service was very polite and hospitable as well."

"The hotel is right on the edge of Lake Windermere, with a very good environment. The hotel lobby has a very British aristocratic style, and each restaurant is very distinctive, but my favorite is the breakfast restaurant. It is so beautiful and comfortable to sit by the window, look at the lake through the green lawn, and eat English breakfast. We ordered dinner, which was also very good, especially the appetizers. The room is also very large, and we can see the lake in our room. It is very shocking to get up in the morning and look at the lake under the blue sky and white clouds. The facilities are also very good. It is a hotel that is worth staying in many times."

"The hotel is very close to the train station, and with all our luggage, we made a great choice. It's an old house converted into a B&B, so there's no elevator, so you had to carry your luggage upstairs. The room was spacious and quite clean. The best part was their breakfast, which you order from the menu and was delicious. Dinner reservations are required. I was careless and didn't make it this time, so I missed out. If you go again, please remember to make reservations! Important things can't be said enough."

"I was a little worried after reading the reviews, but everything was fine after checking in. The room was large, the hot water was good, and the location was very convenient. The only shortcoming was that there was no information from the hotel before arriving, which was puzzling. I had to actively find a way to contact the store to inform me. It would be perfect if this could be improved. However, this price is considered cheap here, so there is no need to worry about no one booking. Hi!"

"The hotel is in a great location the staff are very helpful & pleasent however the hotel & rooms are tired & a bit small. There isn't a fridge in the room, the bathroom nightlight didn't work nor did the hairdryer it was also not possible to turn the towel heating rail off so having it on all day & night caused the room to be constantly hot (no air con). The bathroom is small however the shower was excellent unfortunately the shower tray had a couple of large cracks which had been covered over with (discoloured) tape which made it look scruffy. Breakfast was average, the breakfast room looked like it was waiting for an overhaul & the food was limited but ok. Not sure I would stay here again there are other hotels for a similar price that, despite the lack of sea view, are far superior."

"We stayed for two nights. It was close to the station and within walking distance. It was conveniently located near restaurants, pubs, supermarkets, and other establishments, yet the surrounding area was very quiet and relaxing. We could walk to Bowness, but had to walk up a hill on the way back, so we took the bus. The staff were very kind and helpful, showing us directions to nearby attractions and carrying our suitcases up to our room on the third floor."

"Pros: Excellent hotel location. Cons: The facilities are quite dated. There's no exhaust fan in the bathroom, power outlets are scarce, and the hairdryer only works if you continuously hold down a button. The hangers are fixed and can't be easily removed from the closet. Service was mediocre; most staff seemed unsmiling, with the exception of a couple of very young employees."

"I recently stayed at the Woodlands Hotel in the Lake District, and I was very pleased with the experience. First of all, the breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of options including fresh salmon, which was a nice touch. The room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable, giving it a homely feel. The hotel is also in a convenient location, with a nearby bus stop that makes it easy to reach the main attractions in the Lake District. Overall, it’s a great value hotel with attentive service. Highly recommended!"

"I booked a room for 3 people, on the top floor, the room size is okay, there is room for luggage. The facilities are new and the mattresses are comfortable. The landlord is very enthusiastic, and my son chatted with him very happily. I must give him a good comment. Breakfast is also very good, with a set of bread, bacon, omelette per person, yogurt and fruit buffet. The hotel is located in the middle of the railway station and the pier, and there is a 599 bus stop at the door. When I arrived, I felt that it was a long way from the train station, but after getting familiar with it, I thought it was okay."

"This was the second time my husband and I stayed at this luxurious new resort style hotel in/near Windermere. It was part of a longer trip, and again we stayed in the posh Winander Suites keyed access building. Breakfast is great as you get to eat from both the breakfast buffet, and also order hot food from the menu. The staff here are always 10 out of 10 excellent for both in the spa and the hotel itself. A couple of them even remembered us from the year prior! It's great having so many dining and drinking options on site... one never really needs to leave. I really enjoy the keyed access for the Winander and additional for the room hallways. There is parking on site and a guard at the gate. I know we will continue to visit here for many years to come!"
