"The hotel has a self-service kitchen and refrigerators for storing food. There's also a small bar at the reception. The view from the windows is fantastic, situated on a hillside. The dining area overlooks the lawn. The rooms are clean and tidy, as are the bathroom and toilet. You can stay here with peace of mind; highly recommended."

Staff all friendly areas all clean . Hotel going through some renovations but we heard no noise . Close to all parts of Bowness fabulous view from front of hotel . Definitely recommend staying here"

"I’ve booked Low Wood Bay a few times but this was the first time using trip.com - we got an excellent deal and the customer service was brilliant from both trip.com and Low Wood Bay. There had been heavy snowfall so things were a bit up in the air with whether we would be coming or not due to road closures but the staff were brilliant. Thankfully we did get to come for the night and we’d booked the spa the following day. It is one of the best spas I have been to. The views are stunning. The hotel itself is really lovely, fantastic location, extremely clean and all the staff were super friendly. Will definitely be coming to stay again and can’t recommend enough for a relaxing break."

"I was a little worried after reading the reviews, but everything was fine after checking in. The room was large, the hot water was good, and the location was very convenient. The only shortcoming was that there was no information from the hotel before arriving, which was puzzling. I had to actively find a way to contact the store to inform me. It would be perfect if this could be improved. However, this price is considered cheap here, so there is no need to worry about no one booking. Hi!"

"This is a really beautiful hotel. The location is excellent, about a 5-minute drive from the lake. The facilities are complete and well-equipped. It's very clean and tidy. The environment is top-notch, elegant and attractive. The service attitude is great. The hotel restaurant is super delicious. Friends visiting the lake district shouldn't miss this hotel."

"Although the location of the hotel is not close to the lake, it is between the town of Windermere and Bowness. It is basically a 10-15 minute walk to the lake to take a boat. The World of Peter Rabbit is the closest. The room is large and clean, and the bathroom is the largest among the hotels booked in the seven cities on this trip to the UK. The room is very warmly decorated, the cabinets are very large, and there are many hangers suitable for storing a lot of clothes. The boss's father is from Hong Kong. He chats with us every morning and recommends our travel routes. He is very enthusiastic. The breakfast is also very rich, and the price is very reasonable during the peak summer season."

"We called in as non residents for lunch on the terrace. We ended up going again twice more during our time in the lakes as we were so impressed. The hotel has been refurbished to a very high standard and the staff on the terrace were exceptional. The food and drink were to a lovely standard. We booked on a lake cruise on the Albatross and it was wonderful. Definitely a must do if you are there. Rob and Pete on the boat were the most fantastic hosts. Unfortunately a lady had an injury just as we set off and they were so attentive and looked after her wonderfully. I would recommend to anyone looking for that touch of luxury to stay there. We will definitely be back!"

"The hotel is good overall, but the lawn outside is not as big as in the picture. It takes 20 minutes to walk down the mountain from the hotel. Bowness town is at the bottom of the mountain, and you can take a boat. It is better to take a taxi back at night. Once, there was no street light on the second half of the way back, and I felt the "dark night". The names of the hotel rooms are named after the towns in the lake area, which is quite interesting. The hotel includes breakfast (Ctrip shows that it does not, but it is actually included in the local area), and the dinner I ordered later was also delicious and exquisite."

"I enjoyed my stay at St John's Lodge. As a solo traveller, I was made to feel very welcome. The room was clean and comfortable with a nice ensuite shower room. The little fridge in the room was a bonus as there was fresh milk provided for cups of tea, and I was able to store a few provisions for packed lunches for my walking trips. The staff were all very helpful and the breakfast was excellent - lots of choice of fruit, yoghurts, cereals, and cooked breakfasts made to order. The location was handy for both Windermere, Bowness, Grasmere, Ambleside and Kendal, and there was a bus stop nearby so I didn't need to use my car while I was there. When you've explored the local villages, you can walk to the Bowness ferry and explore the other side of the lake which is generally quieter with lots of places to walk - Claife viewpoint, Wray Castle and Beatrix Potter's house are all within walking distance."
