"The hotel is within walking distance of the city center, making it very convenient. The affiliated parking lot is located a short distance away, but it was not a major inconvenience. "When getting in the room, there is a musty smell that might be from the carpet but after turn on the purifier and run for hours the smell is gone. The hotel bed is comfortable, although the room is small but the toilet size is big enough. The location is also convenient as it is in front of the train and bus station, the airport bus just drop off besides the hotel. When depart back to the airport, you just need to go down to level 1 for the bus ticket and bus. There is also a lawson downstairs, and there are a few restaurant on the lg floor which is not part of the hotel. The hotel even have adapter when to borrow as I forget mine. I forgot to put up the “do not disturb” sign on the door, house keeping come in to clean and tidy the bed, change the towel but very thoughtful as they did not move any of my stuff that are on the table as I might feel very uncomfortable if stuff is moved. The tv is working quite well, youtube all are working fine. Amenities are sufficient too, the toothbrush is so nice and I like the scrubbing towel they offer. There is also free umbrella provided that must return after use. The hotel even have a nice view on the reception floor which you can see the volcano from there."

"We were three people in a room with three beds, and it was very comfortable. The price was also really good, making it excellent value for money. The hotel even had a curling iron, and the tea bags at the front desk were delicious. They also provided a great selection of toiletries, including Sekkisei and DHC products. "It was our first time travelling to Kagoshima and was pleasantly surprised by the size of the room. There are no keys or cards issued for room access, and all you need is the pin code or QR code. I really like that the room has the essential items that you will need during your stay - microwave, stove, washing machine. The hotel do not do housekeeping on a daily basis but it was all good for us as they do refresh the towels everyday. They also provide a water dispenser and ice machine at Level 1. The location of the hotel is fantastic - bars and food joints are just walking distance away and there is a 7-11 at each end of the street. I would highly recommend the hotel for any travellers."

"This was my first trip to Kagoshima, Kyushu, and your hotel's setting was absolutely stunning, offering distant views of Sakurajima volcano. -Great location with easy access to nearby shopping malls.

"The room with Sakurajima view was really nice and spacious. Blue skies and white clouds on check-in day instantly lifted my spirits. The breakfast selection was extensive, and there's a shuttle bus to and from Kagoshima-Chuo Station – just be mindful of the last bus schedule. There's a yakiniku restaurant right opposite the hotel with great value for money!"

"Richmond hotel was located opposite a big department store, with easy access to bus and trams. A combini is just opposite the hotel.
They have a wider range of personal amenities to pick at the lobby. They have 3 machines to handle checkout, exchange currency (e.g. 1000¥ to 100¥ coins for laundry machines on 6th floor, or break 10,000¥ to smaller notes). The machines also accept your hotel parking charges. When it was raining, hotel provided full size umbrellas for use, without deposit or giving room numbers, which is very convenient.
It has a car park with limited lots, so if you can secure one ,it will be very easy to unload and load your bags. Costs 2400¥ for 2 nights of parking.
Main place for food is closer to Tenmonkan area, which is walkable."

"I was very satisfied with this hotel. Right outside the hotel entrance, there's a large A-Coop supermarket that offers discounts in the evening. Across the street, you'll find Sukiya, FamilyMart, and a drugstore. The hotel also has a restaurant bar on the first floor. From my room, I had a fantastic, wide-open view of Sakurajima volcano! What's particularly great is the shuttle bus service that runs every half hour between Kagoshima-Chuo Station and the hotel – super convenient! A little tip: the shuttle pick-up point at Kagoshima-Chuo Station can be tricky to find. It's best to exit from the East Exit, cross the pedestrian bridge to the other side of the road, then enter through the ground floor entrance and walk through the lobby – you'll see the stop there. The hotel breakfast was also very good, though you might have to queue a bit during peak hours. The hotel staff also helped me call a taxi, and it only took about 10 minutes to get to the Tenmonkan area."

Guest UserThe hotel is centrally located near Tenmonkan shopping area, around 2-3 bus stops away from Kagoshima-Chuo station. (May take a while to walk)
The room is comfortable and clean, and room space is surprisingly decent for 2 ppl with opened luggage.
Wifi signal is not the strongest but acceptable.
There's also public onsen available which is good

MoNoPIAThe location is great, right in front of the tram stop, and there are many good restaurants nearby. The public bath is also a nice touch for unwinding after a long day.
I booked a twin room, and as expected for a Japanese business hotel, it was small. I had to open my suitcase near the entrance as there wasn't a separate luggage rack.
On the second floor, there's a reception area where you can enjoy unlimited coffee and other drinks. While the amenities aren't extensive, they are well-stocked at the reception.
There's also a gym, and the breakfast restaurant offers a fantastic view, especially for catching the sunrise over Sakurajima in the morning.

jeongo_yo_The hotel is about a 5-minute walk from Tenmonkan. The ground floor features a lobby, and a restaurant further inside, which seemed very popular with locals in the evenings. If I revisit Kagoshima, I'd definitely like to try their food. My room was on the 5th floor and I appreciated how spacious it was. I found the flyers for local events posted in the elevator very useful; thanks to them, I even got to see a signed Shohei Ohtani ball! :)

Guest UserThe facilities are complete, and the front desk is on the third floor. The location is great, very close to the Planetarium business district. There's a large Don Quijote right across the street from the hotel. It's about a 10-15 minute walk from the station, so not too far. The service is excellent and the staff are very friendly. Coming from Fukuoka to Kagoshima, I felt the rooms here were quite affordable! 😂

Guest UserMake sure to book Banvina Coffee in advance, otherwise you might end up like me, walking to the back door thinking it was closed.
If you want a convenient location, this is definitely the place. It's very close to the central station, less than a 10-minute walk.
The café downstairs has great taste; hotel guests get a free coffee every day, which is fantastic!
The receptionist, although her English wasn't very good, was very cute ☺️ She even turned on the lights and air conditioning before check-in. The hotel is really generous.
The environment looks quite clean overall.
I would definitely choose this place again if I have the chance to go to Kagoshima again.

Hotel staff were very helpful and professional;
Room has proper desk to work with (and LAN port);
Room wifi was okay;
Has a decent public bath;
Location is a 10minute walk down the road from the busy tenmonkan street where all the food and activities happen (or 1 tram stop away);
It’s also 3 tram stops away from main train station kagoshimachuo.
Located at the intersection of 2 tram lines, which can be convenient when getting back to the hotel (just need to get the tram direction correct)

Global birdNice room with the view of sakurajima island in some room direction. Room is nice and good for the price. Only drawback is although close to Kagoshima station, it’s a quite location and you need to walk 5 mins to convenient stores. Restaurant is also limited and close early.

Guest UserIt's an old hotel, and the wooden furniture in the room is worn out. The front desk staff were very polite, but... the funniest part was the buffet restaurant. In all my travels to Japan, this is the first time I've encountered such an unfriendly attitude. I saw from the original description that it was meant to serve Chinese guests, but a young, thin staff member in the restaurant actually said they don't serve Chinese people (and with a very bad attitude). Even when I asked the front desk to intervene, it was useless. I don't know what Trip.com's legal team is doing; they just said there's no evidence. Anyway, I advise everyone to avoid this hotel. It's a shame the polite front desk staff were wasted. Although they apologized repeatedly when I checked out, the bad impression won't disappear. If you absolutely have to stay at this hotel, choose the Kaiun Japanese restaurant for dining; they are much more polite.

Very close to Kagoshima Chuo, cozy, everything is there. A towel costs 100 yen, bunk beds; closed with a curtain, has its own kitchen, dining area.
Bath and shower are normal.
I really liked the location, the staff. Everything is great for unpretentious tourists.
