Aqua Dunhinda is hands down one of my favorite places in all of Sri Lanka. This was my second time staying here, and honestly, I loved it just as much as the first! That already says a lot. It’s one of those places that you keep thinking about — and just want to come back to. The location is amazing: right in the middle of the rainforest, super peaceful, and surrounded by nature. It’s the perfect mix of adventure and comfort. For SURE :) I didn’t feel like a guest here, more like part of a big family. The staff is sooo amazing and welcoming, always smiling, and ready to help with anything. It really made me feel at home. If you love adventure, this is the place. I went exploring with a local guide to the Mahaweli River, deep in the jungle — such an awesome authentic experience. But if you just want to chill, you can relax by the infinity pool or walk through the nearby tea plantations. The views are unreal!!! Also, for digital nomads like me, the Wi-Fi is great — I could get work done with no problems, then just jump into the pool right after! It’s the kind of place that stays with you. This place is truly a hidden gem, and the staff is absolutely incredible! It should be on everyone’s list when visiting Sri Lanka. The owner is wonderful; she invited my friend and me for tea, picked us up in her SUV since our tuk-tuk couldn't make it up the hill due to an earlier accident, and welcomed us warmly despite our late check-in. She even called the staff in to prepare a delicious dinner for us, including an amazing spread of fried rice fit for a feast. The staff then helped drive our tuk-tuk up to the property and prepared an incredible breakfast for us the next morning. The service was exceptional, and the views from our room overlooking the water were breathtaking. I highly recommend staying here!
