Queen's Hotel Kandy - 160 Years of Heritage & Luxury
"Hotel location is good and near to temple, staff is not responsive rather they are conning, I reached late night so I requested that I will check out around 12:30 means half n hour than their policy but they refused that your room is allocated to another person who will check in around 2:00pm. I was wondering whether to go to travel lodge or pay them extra, at that time hotel occupancy was less than 10% but they were in their own way."
Selene City Hotel
"The hotel was unremarkable overall. The location listed on both Airbnb and Google Maps was inaccurate, which made finding the place confusing when we arrived in Kandy. We thought that hotel is in the city center but was 5km away. The hotel itself is fine, but the room felt like a cheaply renovated space right next to a noisy road. On the positive side, the price was reasonable and the room was clean. Ultimately, my experience was forgettable—this is the kind of place I won’t remember minutes after leaving."
The Grand Kandyan
"Mr Aburodha working in the restaurant is very good, very professional and notice he serving a table for 10 guests during dinner time is in a very sincere manner and professional. We really appreciated for his services."
Sevana City Hotel
"The hotel was clean and staff was helpful. There is a rooftop resturant and pool we enjoyed. There is a refillable water area. The location was close and walkable to surrounding sites and restaurants."
Amaya Hills Kandy
"Very difficult to reach as the road is very narrow and steep. Breakfast was good with quite a lot selection. But the coffee was not nice, tea was much better. It’s a quite old hotel, and the service was not that attentive."
Earl's Regency Hotel
"A wonderful stay with absolutely breathtaking views. Wherever you look, you’re surrounded by rolling mountains, and the grounds are beautiful with lots of native wildlife; you really feel at one with nature. The service was exceptional throughout. All staff were attentive, kind, and genuinely eager to help. A special mention to the reception team, especially Jenovia, who was incredibly friendly and helpful, showing us around and making us feel very welcome from the start. The hotel is also very family-friendly, with a small play park and thoughtful touches like towel animals from housekeeping (Ravi) that made our little girl’s day. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice, including both Western and Sri Lankan options. A few very small improvements (such as having bacon readily available, colder milk at breakfast, and ice with poolside drinks) would make the experience truly five-star, but these are minor details. Rooms were clean and comfortable with all amenities provided, and overall the level of service really stood out. If you’re looking for stunning views, a peaceful setting, and excellent hospitality, this is a fantastic choice and one I’d happily recommend."
Cassendra Hotel Kandy
"We want to say a huge thank you for the wonderful four-night stay. Chameera and Dilrukshi at reception, along with Isuru from housekeeping, were outstanding. The rooms were spotless, the food was fantastic, and when my girlfriend fell sick, you all went above and beyond to help. We are so grateful for your care and attention. Thank you so much!"
Atelier Kandy - Boutique Art Hotel & Gallery
"We come here regularly for the monthly karaoke nights, which are always a ton of fun - or to spend some time in the tranquil courtyard. An absolutely lovely place. Highly recommended if you're looking for a respite away from the busy-ness of Kandy without traveling far into the hills!"
Marvel Hills Kandy
"We stayed at Marvel Hills in January 2026. It's a beautiful place, and the villa itself is very well-maintained and green. It's just 100 meters from the road, which is great: quiet and cozy. And at the same time, it's close to amenities. The rooms are very clean and cozy. We recommend it. We arrived early at 5 a.m. and forgot to let them know we were arriving early. We called on WhatsApp, and the owner answered. He checked us in without any problems, no extra charge. He was very nice and attentive. We loved everything!"

The Golden Crown Hotel
"Was very good especially Mr Naveen who was on duty who helped so much . He excellent person , really the man of the day as he helped on so many occasions. I did not like their telephone system as I am having trouble calling services , it was very noisy and I could not place my order right , so please management if you can fix this issue urgently ."
Kandy Myst by Cinnamon
"Probably the best hotel on the island, with a pool and a great rooftop restaurant."
Radisson Hotel Kandy
"We didn't have much time in Kandy, and the hotel is located halfway up a hill. After resting, walking to the Temple of the Tooth was a bit tiring on the legs. Overall, the breakfast, dinner, and check-in experience were quite good."
Taru Villas Kandy
"Excellent! It's very authentic and refined with a local touch. Highly recommend."
Fox Kandy by Fox Resorts - Luxury in the Mist
"I am giving a good rating here, but also want to be very fair and objective. This hotel definitely does not deserve full points, but I was forced to leave a 5/5 review on Tripadvisor the day I checked out, which I had since deleted. While I understand that tourism is a big thing for Sri Lanka, this isn't the way to do business and it isn't fair if travellers get misinformed. Yes, the hotel is perched on a hill and is suitable for you if you prefer peace and quiet after a day in the city, but extended stays might get troublesome due to the winding, narrow hilly roads. There's an infinity pool with nature views but slippers are surely recommended because the changing room/bathroom is away from the pool. The room was also nice and comfy except that the air-con blew directly at the bed despite having adjusted the vane and fan speed. Definitely do not open the windows at night to prevent bugs from entering."
Swiss Residence Kandy
"very good sweet hotel i had wonderful stay, thrle front office tewm was execellant specially thanks FOM mr.kavin good food and confatable rooms recommend hotel"
Skyloft Kandy by Aaradhya
"We enjoyed every aspect of our stay at Skyloft Kandy. It has a beautiful layout along with a view of the mountains and greenery. The bright, breathtaking and serene view combined with the peaceful atmosphere made our stay perfectly relaxing and quite memorable. We also found the food exceptionally delicious. The dining menu had a superb variety of incredibly palatable cuisines prepared to absolute perfection. Each meal was enjoyed with joy and was beautifully presented. The rooms we stayed in were perfectly tidy and comfortable, while the level of maintenance in every aspect was impressive and indicated the hotel's impeccable standards. We were also impressed with the remarkable level of service rendered by all the staff members throughout our visit. Each employee was incredibly professional, attentive and uphold an impressive standard of hospitality. We highly recommend Skyloft Kandy to any person seeking an enjoyable, serene, luxurious and memorable visit to Kandy. It was absolutely a beautiful experience and we hope to visit again soon."
Mount Blue Kandy
"This was our first hotel spot in Sri Lanka and it turned our to be our family's favorite one. Everyone including the children loved this place, from the rooms, view, service and food everything was excellent. Hotel staff from the reception till the kitchen everyone is super friendly and welcoming. View is out class 👌 Early morning if you wake and stand in the balcony you will receive fresh oxygen all around with a beautiful view of greenery all around, amazing temples, flowing river, mountains and much more. A special mention for Chef Ranjeet and Mr. Khan both are brilliant in their field. We have decided to visit Sri Lanka once again and stay in this lovely hotel. Not forgetting the fabulous swimming pool where you can chill with your loved ones and take amazing memorable pictures 📷 All i would say this is all in one a perfect place to spend your holidays whenever you plan a trip to Refreshingly beautiful Sri Lanka 🇱🇰"
Lake Villas Premium Kandy
"This is a clean and elegant retreat nestled in a peaceful setting. The villa is beautifully maintained, with spacious rooms, tasteful decor, and a calm atmosphere perfect for relaxing. The surroundings are lush and serene, offering lovely views that make you feel close to nature. The staff are welcoming and attentive, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable stay. A great choice for anyone looking for tranquility and style in Kandy."
Thilanka Hotel Kandy
"A great place to stay if you enjoy a mix of bohemian and victorian vibes and decorations. The food was great; it was a bit difficult to enjoy gluten-free meals, but the chefs were very helpful in guiding us. We met Marcus, who is the lobby manager, he was very nice, friendly, and helpful with us."
The Cloud Hanthana, Kandy
"Cloud Hanthana Hotel is a great place to relax. The staff is very attentive and always ready to help. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The food is absolutely delicious, with every meal prepared to perfection. For easy access, I recommend taking a taxi, PickMe, or Uber from Kandy city, it’s convenient and affordable. A perfect place for a peaceful and enjoyable getaway!"
RedHill Kandy
"We arrived after a long train journey and were picked up by a tuktuk driver named Ruwan, a warm and funny gentleman So we decided to ask him if he could drive us around he showed us so many lovley temples snd shops. In the hotel we had the best view seeing the temple and the river the breakfast was nice And the staff very friendly Highly recommend this"
Kandy Victoria Eco Resort
"I was very upset my stay had to be pulled out after 2 days for only reason that the accommodation was not safe to reach from kany or outside , firstly the road was steep and the tuk tuk abd small cars struggled to climb safely, the route which Google directed was not straight forward, we almost got killed in a tuk tuk way up and thus scared us abd we pulled off, never safe to go late night after 6pm. The food abd the views were amazing no questions about the service etc but thus all overrules from safety aspect, the accommodation should clearly mention that in there advertisement saying its only suitable for ppl who like adventures and take risk hiking, not advisable for stays for family with young children or old ppl. There was a couple from Oz befire us they got terrified and canceled the stay and complained and left immediately but the manager would not appreciate how dangerous and terrifying it would be for ppl reaching the place remotely. I wouldn't advise this place purely because of safety accesing it. I will attach some pictures to give you more understanding. I had to report to trip. Com to get back my booking charges and book an other safe hotel. This ended up disaster but I'm glad I retired back on one peice. The only access road to this property is extremely steep and currently affected by damage from flooding. Even local drivers have advised that it is unsafe to use. This creates a serious risk of being stranded or injured and makes it unsafe to continue staying at this property. The hotel’s refusal does not override Trip.com’s duty of care to guests. Continuing to house guests where access is affected by landslides and flooding is unsafe. Please escalate this as a safety and misrepresentation case immediately . This situation constitutes a material misrepresentation of the accommodation. Trip.com’s platform standards require accurate property descriptions and reasonable usability. The unsafe access road was not disclosed at the time of booking, despite being a known and ongoing issue, as evidenced by a public review dated 26 January 2026 confirming that another couple also left early for the same reason. As the property cannot be safely accessed, the accommodation is unfit for purpose and cannot be used as booked. Under Trip.com’s service standards and applicable consumer protection principles, this warrants an immediate full refund."
Red Letter Hotel
"The hotel is nestled right in the middle of a beautiful jungle, where you can enjoy the sounds of birds all day long while still having complete peace and quiet. What really makes this place special is the incredible hospitality of the owner, Samantha, and the manager, Rohan, who go above and beyond to make sure you feel welcome and comfortable. The breakfast was tasty and always served right on time, and the pool was super clean. The only small challenge is getting there - Google Maps gives the wrong directions, telling you to turn left at the Buddha shrine, but have no fear, if you’re coming from Kandy, just ignore that and take the next left after the shrine instead (you will pass Venasa restaurant on the right). Then follow the road for about 500 meters (partly paved, partly dirt), and you’ll find the hotel at the end. If in doubt give them a call and they will explain the driver how to get there. Overall it’s a peaceful place surrounded by nature with the warmest hospitality!"
Kandy Rivers Edge Nature Resort
"Accommodated our late check-in and provided packed breakfasts for early departures. Great staff and service. Located in an excellent spot for watching local birds and plants. Will stay here again."
Plantation Retreat
"Actually we went in December 2016 but we had such a lovely time and I promised to review and didn't get round to it until today... A friend's daughter is headed to Sri Lanka so I was thinking back to our trip. We spent about four nights here and loved it. They gave us a lovely welcome and delicious food. The daughter whose name escapes me loved playing with our then three year old. We spent Christmas morning there and then packed our bags and tootled down to the beautiful little platform that is so close by, to travel on north along the single track line to Dambulla. It feels a bit like in between a homestay and a luxury hotel! It's a great place to stay away from the hustle and bustle and have day trips in Kandy. The coconut picker was a bit of a highlight. Highly recommend."
