The first night my room did not have hot water. I figured that perhaps everyone was showering at that time and would check again in the morning. Morning came… No hot water. I called the front desk who told me that my shower handle was backwards and “hot was cold”. I asked why he didn’t tell me that when me checked me in if it was backwards. Anyway, I tried turning it to cold to get hot water… nope. I was told there were no urgent l other rooms available to move me. They then said there was a problem with the hot water and the plumber was on the way. At 10:30am the hot water was fixed. I inquired about having my stay discounted since the hot water amenity was not fulfilled the first night. I was told to talk to the manager. The next day when I checked out, I spoke with the man of the family. All of the employees treated him like he was their dad/husband, so I assumed he was in charge. When I asked about having the first night discounted, he yelled at me saying I should have just checked out the first night if I needed hot water and that it wasn’t such a big inconvenience for me. I explained that I had stayed at his motel for the past 3 years when my son’s tournament occurred but would not be returning ever again. I wanted to share my experience in case any other traveler expects to get hot water with their room.
