Gili Lankanfushi Maldives

We really enjoyed the butler service that Gili provided. They call butler “Mr. Friday”. Our Mr. Friday, Mr. Mifi, is amazing. He took care of all our issues, from booking dinners to booking spa and tennis class.

What else can we say? We’ve just come back from a dream! The quality of the service is here excellent, the location is beautiful and the vila is perfectly decorated and comfortable. But the most important is the kindness and efficiency of the team, especially our Mrs Friday - Shaany who anticipated all our needs, always with a big smile. Really kind, joyful and professional. She made the most adorable birthday celebration to our 6 years old son. He loved her and cried when we left. The surf team is also the best - Justin and Nicole - very kind and professional, give you very good technical advices in a cheerful a**osphere - we love surfing even more than before! Thank to all the team, we had a dreamy stay at Gili!

Everything about Gili Lankanfushi was exceptional. We stayed in the largest over water villa in the world! Had amazing man Friday Miffy looking after our every needs on hand, delicious food with a huge variety of cuisines. Swimming with sharks was a thrilling experience and the diving and snorkelling introduced our family to beautiful creatures. Nothing was too much trouble for all the staff who were genuinely happy and relaxed in their jobs and we had the benefit of that from all of them. It was a truly holiday of a lifetime and I would return any day, an amazing experience.

Everything was unique and I had one of the most beautiful experiences of my life with my girlfriend and there was a person named Tesla who made our travel plans for us, who was extremely professional and kind and made our trip much, much more beautiful. Gili Lankanfushi — It is, by far, the most special place on the planet. Whether it be for a honeymoon like ours, special anniversary, birthday milestone, or anything in between, Gili has been the most memorable and enlightening vacation we’ve ever taken. From the initial inquiry several months back, I knew we would be taken care of as if we were their only guest. Upon landing in Male, we were greeted right away, boarded the boat where a ginger drink and cool towels awaited our arrival, and were whisked away to Gili by speedboat. During our trip to the island we stopped to see hundreds of dolphins playing in the sea! We arrived the island a bit early and were greeted by our one-and-only Mr. Friday, Zubba, along with the general manager Nicholas, and others. You’ll never find anyone like Zubba. His smiling face is a bonus to the passion he has for making his guests feel special. If you’re coming to Gili I suggest you request him. As we arrived a bit earlier than check-in time, Zubba took us on a buggy tour of the entire island, which I highly recommend doing right away. While the island is only 600m x 100m, the facilities are endless so having a lay of the land right away helped immensely. Our villa was ready before check-in and Zubba escorted us through another tour of our new home for the week ahead. Our spacious villa was exquisitely designed, featuring floor to ceiling windows, a rooftop terrace, a bath overlooking the lagoon, an outdoor shower with and enclosed area that has steps into the ocean for privacy, air conditioned bedroom and living space (the AC living space is only in the ‘residence’ model), a bathroom inside the bedroom offering convenience to not have to walk across multiple rooms in the middle of the night, a floor view of the ocean right in the living room, a bar area, and of course the outdoor space complete with lounge chairs, chaise lounge sofas, umbrella, and nets to lounge in over the water. Stairs leading into the ocean lead you to an overwater hammock such as those you typically only see in magazines. The hammock outside our Gili Lagoon Residence was cleaned everyday by gentlemen in a boat, one of the many fine details making this visit extraordinary. We only saw them doing this once, as everything is done in stealth mode. We only saw our villa attendant, Nasif, twice throughout our stay, which is wild considering he was in our room multiple times per day. Each day, he left us fresh fruit for leisurely snacking, Rosemary bath salts set aside the bathtub overlooking the lagoon, and bottled water that tastes better than any you’ll ever have. Nasif brought special pillows and essential oils we chose from an extensive menu, along with a silk duvet atop a perfectly made bed made for the most dreamy night of sleep you’ll ever have. The glowing orange and pink sunset beaming into the bedroom is truly a sight I’ll never forget, it’s as if another color was added to the rainbow that you’ll only ever see in the Maldives. S

Just came home from the most amazing stay at this 5 star resort. My wife and I came here for our honeymoon right after our wedding based on a recommendation from a friend. Gili did not disappoint, it held its standard to a true 5 star resort. We have traveled to many places that claim to be 5 stars, but this truly exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived at the airport we were greeted immediately by the airport Friday who grabbed our bags and escorted us to the dock where the boat arrived within 5 mins. The 20 min boat ride to the resort was gorgeous, and our arrival to the dock at the resort was no less. We were immediately greeted by 4 members of the staff, including the GM Nicolas and our Mr. Friday. Our bags were taken care of and we were given a tour of the entire island so we were familiar with where to go. Arrival to our suite was stunning. The crystal blue waters and the size of our villa was jaw dropping. We were in their most basic villa, no upgrades, but were stunned with the size of our villa for 2 people. You walk into an open air living space that has direct view to the ocean and our outdoor area. There were many options to sit out back with 2 beds, 2 lounge chairs with thick cushions and 2 hammock floors. The bathroom was enormous, with 2 sinks and 2 large closets, beautiful bathtub perfectly placed by the window. An outdoor, but private, shower was an amazing experience. The bedroom was located on the other side of living area, closed door and air conditioned (which is definitely needed to sleep at night). Additionally, the villa has un upstairs open air lounge area with amazing views. The villa had a nespresso and tea selection at no cost, and always stocked with still and sparkling water. The wine fridge had soda, juice, wine and beer for additional cost (very high prices), which we didn't touch. The villa was serviced twice a day, once in the morning when we went to breakfast and once in the evening when we went to dinner. Arif did an amazing job, he even opened and closed all the blinds/curtaines in the morning and evening. We truly did not have to do a thing. They provided life jackets and snorkeling gear that was already placed in the room with your size which you are free to use throughout your stay right off your own villa. Each person was also given a bike with a basket that was assigned to each villa and waiting for you at the front door. This was yours throughout the stay as well, which is what we used to navigate the island. Although, you could walk to most places, the bikes provided a quicker way to do so. The vibe of the resort is luxurious while exposing you to Maldivian culture. We felt at home within the first few hours of being there. We were introduced to the NO SHOE concept, which is optional but completely necessary to feel truly relaxed.
