Cathay||Old town palace Inn (Lijiang Old Town Dashuiche Branch)

We had a wonderful stay at Old Town Palace Inn in Lijiang. From the moment we landed, the staff went above and beyond—they arranged a car to pick us up from the airport and even had someone meet us to carry our luggage through the narrow cobbled streets (cars can’t get into the ancient city). That same staff member later gave us a personalized walking tour of the old town, which really helped us get our bearings and understand its cultural history better. Our room overlooked the rooftops of the ancient city with the mountains in the distance—absolutely beautiful. The location is right in the heart of the old town, so you’re surrounded by everything: winding cobblestone streets, curved rooftops, great coffee shops, rose cakes, costume rentals, and some fantastic restaurants. One thing to note: the hotel is fairly close to bar street, so you’ll hear music at night. It wasn’t overwhelming for us—more of a soft, rhythmic beat in the background—but if you’re a light sleeper, it’s something to keep in mind. Breakfast was excellent, and the hotel’s traditional architecture really adds to the charm. The staff was consistently kind and accommodating—I even texted them in the mornings to ask for coffee, and they always brewed a fresh pot of Yunnan's finest beans with a smile. Overall, it was a comfortable, memorable way to experience the charm of Lijiang’s ancient city. Highly recommend for anyone wanting an authentic stay with wonderful hospitality.

The location was just perfect, it's right up the alley just right outside the bar street. You do need to walk around 5-10 minutes (depends on your speed) from where the car could stop at. The walk is through the old town so I barely felt it. Fair warning, there are 2 flight of stairs to go up to the hotel, it's not exceptionally high but I get quite out of breath every time. The staff helped carry my luggages from the main square right into my room, and down again. Even asked them to helped bring it down a few hours after I checked out. The staff are super helpful and I loved the room (exactly like pictured), I don't usually go out at night but it's so near to everything that I went out every night. Amazing stay! Hope I could visit again someday.

It’s good experience to stay inside the LiJiang Old Town. Service from Summer is excellent! Thumbs up.
