The service was good however the dining room and bar had distracting music which spoilt the experience. The meals we had were somewhat over cooked. The breakfast was good and the coffee machine worked well. Enjoyed the two for one cocktails at the bar. However we were disappointed that the desk lamp and the mirrored make up light did not work in our room. There was no designated shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom so had to use the liquid soap and no box of tissues, only the toilet paper The TV had a faulty remote so it took a long time to turn the TV on and then turn it off. Bed was comfortable and room nice and quiet through the night. Perhaps the superior rooms would have been more suitable on the 5th floor?

The location is great that near the Aldgate East station. It’s very convenient and the room is clean.

The hotel is okay Location: At Alagate East Station on the district line, walk 300 meters after arrival There is a tower bridge nearby that can be lifted and you can go sightseeing. It only takes 10 minutes to walk. There is a Chinese supermarket opposite the hotel, and mineral water is 0.75 pounds a bottle. The hotel breakfast is a traditional British breakfast anyway. The room is clean and looks relatively new. The bed is the smallest bed I have ever slept on. The front desk is very beautiful🤩 There is a dandan noodle nearby, and I will show you how to make grated intestines.

The room is not big, but it is very clean. It is convenient to travel. It is 5 minutes away from the subway station. There are many restaurants nearby. The bathroom is also very clean and tidy. It is a good experience. It has air conditioning, which is very good.

The hotel was clean and quiet, we had a room on the second floor because there was nothing to complain about. Only at breakfast 30 minutes before the end, the scrambled eggs and fried eggs were dry

We had a great stay, the staff were friendly and helpful. The location was excellent. The hotel and room was clean and tidy, and the bar was well stocked and had a great atmosphere, I would highly recommend.

I have stayed in this hotel multiple times for pleasure and also as a Business club member. I will not be returning. Upon arrival the room was not very clean and there were blood spots on the pillow. (I have taken photos). I queued for breakfast the following morning with my wife at a cost of £22.98 and the queue was so huge that the breakfast sitting closed before we reached the front and therefore had not breakfast, at a cost of £22.98. The reception area was so busy, that I didn't have time to voice my concerns with the staff. I realise that the hotel was full, but this was disgusting. I will take action to recover the cost of my room and the breakfast.

Firstly, your web’s online form isn’t working correctly. I actually checked in on the 25th May 2024, not the 24th but you cannot select this on your online form. Then I wasn’t able to submit it under the reason I am writing, so had to toggle this until it allowed me to send online. Again, this is quite poor. I arrived at your London City Aldgate Hotel on midday to be told the room wasn’t ready, maybe half an hour or an hour would be fine but ‘try 3-4pm’ seems ridiculous. The reason for this was apparently because one of the three lifts was broken, seemed to somehow have an effect on housekeeping? I’m not quite sure how? The room wasn’t the room I booked and was pretty poor condition and noisy. The room was 202. The shower is very dark and not brilliant for someone with a disability (I am partially sighted and have trouble with mobility) but was told it would be ok. The desk in room is cracked so if you sit at it, you will snag or catch your top/tshirt. The chair is also broken so you will get splinters in your leg or trousers! There was various marks to carpets and walls and the room was noisy, both from outside traffic and also every time an adjacent room opened or closed a door, or the fire door to the hall/lifts, the room shook and the door moved, despite being locked! This was extremely annoying! On the morning of departure (27th May) the cleaners decided to have a chat outside my room at 8:24am - I don’t think this is acceptable. The trolley was outside my room for over an hour. I appreciate they have to clean rooms, but maybe respect the people who have paid a lot of money to try and sleep! Once I had been woken up, I decided to check out and see if breakfast was any good - I walked into the restaurant and there was a queue out the door to what I guess was breakfast but as there was no staff to be seen, who knows. I stood there for 5 mins and decided this wasn’t worth the wait, let alone £14, which I would have happily paid had I been shown a table promptly. All in all, it’s all very poor, the welcome is poor and the silly excuse of a room not being ready is just bad planning on your hotels managements part. I have stayed in a variety of hotels around the world, and this is one of the worst in recent times. I’m really not very happy at all, and trust someone will contact me regarding this utter waste of money!

Reasonably priced, good breakfast. Great staff, especially breakfast staff. Nothing was too much trouble.
