We had 2 hour head to toe ayurvedic massage. Such an increfible experience. They blessed the oil before starting and were perfectly in synch. The sauna after had fronds of leaves on the floor to keep our feet cooler. I csn still feel the oil deep in my skin over 10 days later. Only regret is that we didn't have 180 minutes

I did not enjoy my massage. There was a lack of communication with the massage girl On arrival I was asked to pay within 2 minutes and the medical check was done in a few minutes as well I really felt like they just wanted to get the money and did not care about the service

We found a magic place surrounded by fantastic nature, quiet, just the sound of birds. The staff is amazingly friendly. The food (ayurvedic, but we also got chicken) is absolutely great. The ayurvedic treatment overwhelming. Every morning we had yoga class. We did some interesting half-day trips from there, the manager was very helpful in organising it. We fully can recommend Athreya Ayurveda Ashram!

We had 2 full body ayurvedic massages when staying at a nearby hotel. The massages were very good, right level of pressure and we felt very relaxed afterwards. However, having done numerous other massages after this one, we found out it was pretty expensive vs other places we went to.

Lovely peaceful place - good amazing food - great place to relax - Thilaxi was very helpful - telling us what we were eating so we knew. - as some we hadn’t seen before. Everything was very well planned. The treatments offered were pricey so we reduced what we were able to have - to save money. The safe in our room wasn’t working but otherwise this was a fabulous stay that I would visit again if in the area.

We came here for a massage and treatment after climbing Sigrya on the recommendation of our guide at Blue Lanka travel and it was an amazing experience and extremely relaxing and soothing. There perfect experience for unwinding after that arduous climb. Definitely recommended but book early as they are understandably very popular

The location is amazing as it's near a lake and it's a really nice place for walks, and if walking isn't your thing you can always ask the hotel staff to take you on a boat ride. With excellent vegetarian food to excellent spa services, my experience there was unforgettable.

We stayed here for eight days in their quaint mud-brick 'chalets'. It took 24 hours to become adjusted to the no-tea, no-coffee, no-alcohol, no-meat or fish,not-much-dairy, no frills regime, but soon we loved its comfortable escapism, seemingly quite deep in lush vegetation close to a lovely wewa where boat rides could be taken. It was a delight to fall into a quite different routine - early morning yoga/meditation, three ayurvedic 'treatments' including a full-body massage, and herbal and steam baths, full body oil massage and so on. Three-times-daily highlights were the ecellent and exciting meals. The variety of vegetable curries served was astonishing, even to an old Sri Lanka hand, no crry was ever repeated. Always a herbal drink and loads of fresh fruit too. I was impressed by the advice offered by the doctor each day and by the expertise of my therapist, who between them offered considerable relief from some physical and emotional issues. The intimacy available by their being only six rooms allowed for highly attentive service. But don't expect TV, reliable wifi, nights on the town... but afternoon trips to Aukana, Ritigala, and wildlife safaris were all within reach. This is not a cheap place, but all things and the personal service considered, it was fair value for money. We had a wonderful time. Thanks to everyone for making it so.

Our family stay at Athreya Ayurveda Ashram was the highlight of our time in Sri Lanka. Dr. Hewanayaka, Shiron and their family (especially sweet Dulara) and the entire staff made our stay incredibly special. We really felt like family. They were so incredibly helpful with scheduling and with our son so that both my husband and I could receive the treatments regularly. The Yoga classes with Kingsley were wonderful. He was so patient and caring, even when our 6-year-old popped in and out of class. The meals were delicious, the service unsurpassed. They asked us regularly for feedback, and always explained all of the food dishes with pride and patience for our many questions. They set up special events for us like a Kandyan dance class, a boat ride on the lake to see lots of lotuses and flying foxes, a trip to Ritigala monastery and even came with us on an elephant safari which made our 6-year-old so happy! This stay so far exceeded our expectations, I would give it 10 out of 5 stars if I could!! The traditional food, the Ayurvedic treatments, our wonderful therapists, the kitchen staff, Shiron's wonderful service-oriented presence, the fantastic Doctor, all of it. We have missed it there since the day we left. But we left there feeling healthy, balanced, light-hearted and stress-free. Thank you so much to everyone at Athreya! We could never thank you all enough for making our time in Sri Lanka truly unforgettable. We hope to be back someday!
