Kalahari is a place that works for different types of travelers. They have rooms as well as camping/glamping options. The rooms are cozy and have comfortable chairs on the terrace. The game drives were incredible with the scenery and sunsets. Therr are two pools and a spacious bar for relaxation. This place is a great value for what you receive as a guest. Thanks to James for helping to make my stay comfortable as a solo traveler.

we stayed for 1 night and would have loved to stay another. Nice garden with a central pool. Single bungalows very well kept and clean. Wonderful food as buffet dinner for the evening and also breakfast was very tasty. We also went on the sun downer game drive which we loved. First introduction to us for the area, animals and topped by a bar with snacks for the sunset.

We arrived from Windhoek and stayed for 3 nights. We had requested a room not facing the garden/pool area, but the Kalahari. Our room with the terrace had a great view which we also enjoyed just laying on our beds. Beds were comfortable and the room stayed cool also during the day and higher temperatures. Breakfast and dinner buffet offered a very good variety. The bar area was nice and comfy also for a snack or just a drink and surfing the internet (wifi-reception in the room was not so good, but that we experienced in most places in Namibia as the internet coverage is not so good yet). We loved the early morning tour with a great sunrise and lots of animals. Our tour guide put a lot of effort into the drive she is very knowledgable tried to show us all the beauty of the Kalahari.

The staff weren't the friendliest. When we asked for basic information like "what gins do you have?" or "where can we find the coffee?" at breakfast the staff were very curt and could never speak a full sentence. Instead of a response at the bar we had the menu slapped in front of us and then he left. We were always very friendly, just happy to be there, but the positive response was never there. We're locals so it's not like they had trouble understanding us. However, we were very happy with one staff member, I think it was Lafrenz. Truly a helpful and kind character, always very polite and really made us feel welcome upon checking in and out, quite an asset to your team.

The lodge is located in a huge private reservation with lots of animals and beautiful scenery. The rooms are nice and clean and the service is mostly great. We took the sundowner drive and it was wonderful!!! The only downside was diners, since we came after the ”rush hour“ choices were poor and most of the remaining buffet food was cold. Disappointing. However, all in all it is a wonderful lodge.

Great way to experience the Kalahari Relatively small rooms, but appointed so beautifully. The resort is attractive and although the reserve is relatively small (＜20,000 hectares) compared to Okonjima,it’s significantly more affordable. Highly recommend doing the evening sundowner ride (extra charge, but worth it)

a Kalahari Sunset Cocktail + a Kalahari Sunset = total bliss. Staff were super friendly and attentive. Accommodation really lovely especially the rooms facing out on to the veld. We enjoyed our two nights stay and would recommend it for a stop in the Mariental area.
